First visit to Camden Kitchen. With a party of 5,we had a lovely table next to the window upstairs. The menu was a little restrictive, but everyone eventually found something to suit _with two pals ..opting for the starter with sides, as a main course. Food was good ,although portions small.

First time in Camden Kitchen for dinner, had been a couple of times for lunch and was impressed. The dinner menu didn't disappoint, only slight grumble would be portion sizes - I ended up ordering the cheese plate to finish but an extra sweet dessert, and was by no means stuffed. Bit draughty near the door - if booking ask for a table away from the door.

Wonderful food and service, be warned its small but the best things come in small packages and this restaurant is one of the diamonds .... The oxtail croquette is to die for! Who knew chicken could taste so good! Heavenly Gambas & tasty Gnocchi ..... We were too stuffed to even try dessert even though my favourite (a cheeseboard) was on the menu..... A great experience .... The only negative is the tables are slightly too high but with the quality of the food coming from the calm and efficent open kitchen you barely notice..... Love this place .....

I at here this weekend just gone by for the first time in the downstairs section with 2 friends of mine visiting from out of town, one of which got a recommendation for the restaurant. I thought it was a nice cosy restaurant. The lighting was subdued. The atmosphere was buzzy without being too loud. Most of the tables were occupied with a people ranging from around mid-30s onwards. It actually seemed like it might be a good venue for a date night. I had the terrine to start which I thought was flavoursome and moist. Sometimes terrine can be dry but this was perfectly done. We all had the haddock for the main course and it was very tasty with a lovely rich sauce and we all enjoyed it. I had the pannacotta for dessert and it was quite tasty and the right texture without being too firm. Overall we paid €167 for 2 starters, 3 mains, 3 desserts and 2 bottles of white wine so overall the value was very good. The staff were generally attentive but I did find that they could have had a little bit more of a friendlier manner as it verged more on efficiency and less on friendliness. However I would recommend the restaurant and would probably go back again.

Four of us went here to celebrate a birthday. Five stars for food and value. The fact that a large party had got their order taken first meant that the kitchen was very busy and we had to wait ages for our starters and then mains to arrive. Absolutly no engagement with floor staff hence the low mark for service. However, the food was excellent. The girls went for the Hake while us lads had the duck. Very very tasty. House wine by the caraffe was very good and reasonably priced though the remainder of the wine list was on the pricy side. Overall a delicious meal. Will go back when hopefully the kitchen is not as overwhelmed.

This was a very mixed experience. You could say it was a tale of potato's. We both started with potato and smoked haddock croquets served with a slice of smoked salmon. The croquets were made of shaped mashed potato in breadcrumbs. Neither of us could detect any smoked haddock. The salmon was fine but we had to ask for a wedge of lemon. The quite ordinary mashed potato reappeared as part of my main course. My partner ordered a side dish of sautee potato's which consisted of a small plate of halved baby potato's which looked and tasted suspiciously like the watery yokes sold in my local discount store for 39 cent a bag. These were €3.50 and were uneaten. Other gripes were a scant wine list mostly consisting mainly of more expensive choices and an overly creamy risotto which was well on the way to becoming a rice pudding. On the plus side my roast chicken was excellent and my partners hake was perfectly cooked even if the portion was a bit miserly. The highlight of the evening for me was a luscious chocolate fondue with vanilla ice cream. My partners blue Cashel cheese was in prime condition. Overall, it was a good meal but not a great one. Must try harder.

Food is very good, a real taste treat. We had 3 courses which one would need to be full (I was starving), restaurant was crowded with a real buzz. We were on a voucher so it was great value, they do have a set menu which is cheaper also....deffo book as a lot of people were turned away at the door. Bit of time between courses, however they were jammed and the quality of the food was great.

I was really looking forward to my night out at the Camden Kitchen as I had heard great things about it, we were a party of 8 for a Saturday 8pm sitting. From the minute we sat down we were disappointed. The waiter came over to tell us 4 things were not on the menu – they were sold out. We ordered the other options and everyone was happy enough with what they got but not thrilled, one person had to send theirs back as there were burnt pieces on the plate. When it came to dessert they were again sold out of a few things, one of the party ordered the cheese plate – it came with one piece of cheese – for €10!!! He sent the cheese back saying he would not pay that much for one piece of cheese. When the waiter came with the bill he asked how everything was and we said we were a little disappointed and could we talk to the manager to inform him of the various mishaps of the night. The waiter came back and said the manager was ‘too busy’! We paid the bill - €70 each for a mediocre meal and on the way out the manager was standing laughing and chatting with the chefs – busy indeed. I think for the price and the standard of restaurant they really need to pull up their socks if they are to survive.
