2.0 Port House Pintxo 2.0 star review:
I only reviewed this place very recently and said I'd been disappointed the last few times, but decided to give it one more chance last night. Never again. The standard of food in Pintxo has slipped alarmingly. I ordered what is usually my favourite dish, patatas bravas. Instead of the usual pan-fried cubes of potatoes, I was served what looked like oven-cooked-from-frozen mini roast potatotes. They were dry and too crispy and absolutely drowned in salt. The measly drizzle of sauce, while tasty, only covered about a third of the portion. Ordered meatballs, which were the worst meatballs I've ever eaten. The meat itself was underseasoned and had a smiley texture and the sauce was completely bland. To me, they tasted like Campbells meatballs. I also ordered a chorizo dish, which was swimming in oil. I know chorizo is naturally oily but this was way OTT and I felt quite sick afterwards. The chorizo itself was soft and squidgy instead of firm, and quite unappetising. Decided to chance dessert and ordered the Ferrero Rocher cheesecake. I'm pretty sure this was a bought-in frozen dessert that was just defrosted. Definitely not freshly made, did not taste like cheesecake at all and even the Ferrero Rocher on top was soggy as if it had been defrosted. Service was not the friendliest, atmosphere was fine. I would always have considered Pintxo good value for money, but I think we paid way over the odds last night for awful quality food.

A group of us ate here recently for a girly night out. On the whole we were 80% happy with the food. There is a large extensive menu. Good choices were the chorizo al vino, goats cheese and spinach salad, the calamari, brochetas de pollo and the meatballs. I would avoid the paella de pollo (which was quickly returned), the patatas bravas were bland and the accomplanying sauce did nothing to liven them up). Also the churros were nothing like I have eaten in Spain, instead very soggy and not enough sugar or cinnamon! Staff were very friendly, great choice of reasonably priced wines and the sangria went down a treat too. Atmosphere was lovely and relaxed, great for a girls night out, and would return now I know what to order!

Bar Pintxo used to be my favourite place to eat in Dublin, but the last 3 times I've been there, the quality of the food hasn't been the best. I've found meat to be dry, and other dishes to be too greasy. The atmosphere is always great though, whether it's for an after-work bite or a Saturday night out. Service can be hit and miss but it's great value for money. Great wines and cocktails too!

Arrived late on Friday without a reservation. We only had a 15 minute wait for a table. I couldn't fault anything, atmosphere was great, food and wine choice were top class. Once of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time, a great experience rounded off with great and fast service and very reasonably priced bill. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great tapas & wine with a lively atmosphere and fantastic service.

My husband and I came in here for dinner and loved that they don't take reservations so we didnt have to worry about not having booked. Its quite a dark restaurant with lots of candles but I quite like that cosy atmosphere. We ordered some manchego cheese to nibble while looking at the menu and found it hard to choose as theres such a good selection. We ordered 6 dishes to share and every single one was delicious! The prawns were so big and cooked perfectly and my husband loved the ham croquettes (and he lived on these when living in Spain so he's fussy!). The paprika chicken is probably my favourite. If I had to find one small fault, its that the meatballs were not quite hot enough and as the restaurant was busy we couldnt get our waitresses attention to change them. We had only eaten one or two so when the waitress cleared our table she was very polite and said that they would of course be taken off our bill. The wine menu is very very good. A lot of nice Spanish reds to choose from within a good price range. I'm already looking forward to going back!

Excellent food in this place. Chorizo and prawn dishes are particular favourites, along with the Gallega scallops. Tortilla is also nice, but the calamari was the only let down - didn't seem authentic. Came here with 7 people - small place & no bookings so we were lucky to be seated in 15 minutes (Tuesday evening). Service is very good, and we had a lovely bottle of Vinho Verde wine from Portugal. Happy with prices too, and the low lighting atmosphere is judged particularly well.

The tapas on offer here are the best I've ever tasted outside Spain. A little on the expensive side but definitely worth it. The service is great too. The staff really care but don't hassle you too much. If I could change anything, I'd like more separation between tables. There's definitely a lack of privacy. That said, this is the best restaurant I've been to in Dublin for a long time.

Having been in Pintxo's a number of times I wasn't surprised that once again the food and atmosphere in Pinxto's was superb.
The bruschetta was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The potatas brava was delious and as for the sangria it was the best I have ever had.
The price was great too. Delicious food at the right price. Would recommend eating there to anyone.

Been here a couple times. Lovely to sit at the patio in the back (although the (hot) airconditioning could be turned a bit lower imo). Food is always delicious. This time me and my friend shared 4 dishes, which was plenty, we couldn't even finish it all) We also had the loveliest bottle of wine. Will be back - think it's the best tapas in town!
