Luigi Malones Restaurant 5.0 star review: Really enjoyed our meal. The only fault is the restaurant can get really noisy and it can be hard to hear what is being said across the table.

Luigi Malones Restaurant 2.0 star review: I had the lunch special here today at €9.75. which is great value for a medium main course plate and a drink (beer or wine €2 extra).
I ordered the pasta carbonara which arrived without delay and as I was hungry I tucked in. The first few mouthfuls were ok but by half way through I thought... I make better carbonara than this! To put it plainly it tasted greasy / oily and due to my hunger I carried on eating it. Wish I hadn't, it left me feeling queasy after about an hour. I dont understand what happened here as I know Luigi Malones has a good reputation. Maybe it was the chef's day off. I'll think again before eating here.

Luigi Malones Restaurant 4.0 star review: We had a really lovely lunch here today. The lunch menu was great value and there was a decent selection. We had carbonara and the garlic chicken, both meals were very tasty. We had the Toberlone cheesecake for dessert - perfect! The service was very good. The restaurant was busy which is a good sign. The only complaint I have was that there were only two toilets working in the women's and only one was clean enough to use. Finally I'd like to mention that this restaurant was very willing to accept discount cards, making their good value menus even better value.

Luigi Malones Restaurant 3.5 star review: went here for a meal with the other half. Was a busy friday night. Our food was really nice. I had garlic mushrooms which were average. Like any you would get in any restaurant or even some good frozen packs. The garlic mayo with them was lovely though. my partner had the goujons which again were very tasty.

For mains we had the paella and the ribs. both were quite nice. For dessert we had the profiteroles and the strawberry and chocolate pavlova. these were both spectacular.

the main downside to Luigi Malones is not its food, that is fine, the downside is actually how popular it is. Because of its great reputation i find it very busy and i felt that the tables on the entrance level were too close together. we were sat at a table next to three girls and we could hear their conversation the whole evening.

i would go again, but probably on a week night or early afternoon.

Luigi Malones Restaurant 3.0 star review: This used to be one of my faveourite irish-italian restaurants, but after my last visit I will never go back there again! we were left waiting for about 20 mins to be seated. After ordering we waited a further 30 mins for our starters to arrive. I usually order the lamb skewers as they are gorgeous! However, the standards have definitely dropped as the lamb was chewy and hard. My partner ordered the beef fajitas, when the meat arrived, it resembled dogfood! So we had to send that back. My chicken fajitas were ok, nothing to get excited about. My partned was so annoyed after waiting so long to be seated and then for the food to be of such poor quality he just wanted to leave. So not a happy customer at all.

Luigi Malones Restaurant 5.0 star review: Four of us ate here on Wednesday night and it was pretty busy there for a Wednesday evening, we all ordered from the early bird menu which was good value. The nacho's and garlic mushrooms were good was starters, I had the pasta with chicken and bacon which was delicious if sinful! The fajita's that 2 of us ordered were lovely as was the pizza. The house wine is very reasonably priced too.

Luigi Malones Restaurant 4.5 star review: Hi all,

I went to Luigi's on a Sunday with my wife. We both had the Yakisoba which is amazing followed by the toblerone ice cream. Add in a few fischer beers and you have heaven on a sunday. Going again this Sunday.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
