Firstly, let it be known that I come too Elephant and Castle quite often and it certainly isn't for the service. I've always tipped but you wouldn't know it from the service. The staff there do not seem interested in earning a tip. Its as if poor service were fashionable. They just want to get you in and get you out!Unfortunately they have a perfect location so regardless of how they treat you or me, for that matter, they fill house daily.
I digress, the chicken wings are crispy on the outside and if you bite on the meat and pull the bone away the meat just slides off. The end of the bones are crunchy and are easily bitten off and chewed. The blue cheese sauce that comes with the ''Wings'' is delicious if not a tad small. The hand cut chips go well with the blue cheese sauce. A friend of mine is a E & C regular and he boasts that because of this he receives just the larger drumsticks in his basket and none of the two boned wings. He tells me that you don't want to go too early as they have pre made them and that going too late is a no no also. For the perfect basket of wings he tells me go between 4 and 7 although it may be hard to get a table, a little bit more care and consideration will go into the making.
In my opinion E & C produce the 2nd best basket of wings in Dublin. Props too the chef.

Ive been a few times and the service is absolutely shocking. I have to say the food is quite nice but on 2 out of 3 occasions it was cold. We complained but were told as we were a large party for breakfast we should expect this. I know we shouldnt have gone back but we did just cos of convenience and location and the same thing happened - asked for extra toast and more coffee and waited 15 minutes and this did not appear. Left with out tipping and will NEVER return. Dont know whre they get such apothetic staff but with the choice these days I will not feel sorry for them if they go out of business.

Ate here with a friend. THe restaurant was busy as usual so the hostess put us on the list and asked us to call back at a dedicated time. When we returned she barely ackowoledged us and left us standing for 10/15 minutes without speaking to us to explain or even to say how long we would be waiting. Then the beer we ordered they brought out a different beer. When I queries it with staff they explained the one we ordered was out of stock so they had brought a similar one. Again they should had communicated with us. Poor service. Got the wings which have a great rep, and I have had them in the past, and they were great again. Also had a burger which was decent. The restaurant has a lively busy feel and is well located.

I was recommended by a friend to try the chicken wings here which were delish! However, the waitor was extremely rude and patronising! We asked for the bill and he mumbled something and walked away. When he returned a few minutes later we asked did we have to go up to the counter or wait in which he abruptly snapped and said he would get the bill. As I walked to the till he asked in almost an accusing manner was I going to pay! I told him we were paying by card and we were left waiting for a further few minutes until another waitor who was polite settled the bill. It was my first time visiting and definitely my last! Will not be recommending to anyone! The last two times I have gone there have been waiting times for almost two hours which is understandable as the place seems to be very popular however the staff seem to be aloof when you ask for a table and unapologetic about the long waiting time.

Well it was a girls night out and we all ordered chicken wings to start to share... gorgeous as always. 3 of us got the prawns with couscous and 3 of us got the salmon and was all delicious and the desserts were fab too. After a good laugh and some nice food, and not bad service we paid our bill only to not get our change back.... When we did get it back it was not what we expected. We had worked out that we were still owed €10. Anyway it came down to us asking the manager as the waitress we were dealing with was quite rude and not very helpful. She thought we were wrong but we did walk out with the €10 we knew we were left short. The feeling I got was that she didn't care and was too sure of herself that we got it wrong. This was the only downside to the evening.

a lovely lively little restaurant. I don't even read the menu, just straight for the chicken wings. Great location, always buzzing and worth a visit.

Arrived at the Restaurant last night at 11pm after the Michael McIntyre gig in the O2 only to be told that they were closed. We had checked online before we made our way there to check the opening times and both their own website and menupages state 11.30pm to be the closing time on a Sunday. I asked the staff member was it not open until 11.30? and they said that no it depends on the night. So be warned - the opening times stated are not actually the opening times - the staff make them up as they go along! I can understand if the Restaurant was empty however there were at least 7-10 other tables still there. Not a very good first impression!

Five of us had dinner here, and all enjoyed it hugely. My sister had duck salad, and said it was delicious. I had shrimp and bacon sandwich which is extremely tasty (coriander mayo mmmmm!), and the other three had burgers, all of which were very good. Lovely chips on the side too. We only ordered one dessert, and as they knew it was my sister's birthday, the staff brought it out on a special birthday plate with a candle in it for her and sang happy birthday. A lovely touch, and made the night very special for her. Unfortunately we couldn't stay too long, but we were very happy with our meal and the staff provide wonderful service. Looking forward to my next visit!
