We went on Living Social voucher €50 worth. A good while after we ordered 2 starters and 2 mains plus sides we were informed that we would have to order drinks with that voucher. We should have been made aware of this at the time we ordered because otherwise we wouldn't have got the starters. The food was nice but the beef with the curry was not fillet. I thought vouchers were to promote these places but I don't think Ireland has got the hang of this yet. We found that you are treated much different and the food in most of these places are not up to the standard of full paying customers. What a shame why bother signing up for these vouchers if you want to let down your establishment

Very disappointed for the first time ever. This would be my favourite thai in Dublin. We have been with and without vouchers and never had a problem. Today we had a voucher and had a really pushy waiter. We were really pushed to order drinks when we would normally drink water as voucher was towards food and drink, not just food. The starters were ok but not up to the normal standards. We had pad thai and again not as good as usual and the beef ordered as medium rare came without a trace of red let alone pink. No sign of waiter and we also had time constraints so didn't complain. It was mentioned to waiter but he was very dismissive. Not sure what was going on, whether there is a new chef and/or staff but really disappointed and really don't think we will be going back.

Sawadee thai restaurant has lost two long standing loyal customers as a result of our recent experience in the restaurant . My friend and I had recently purchased a living social voucher and made a reservation to use it last Thursday evening. On arrival I quoted the name of the booking to the man behind the counter. He didn\'t welcome me or even say hello, but asked for my voucher straight away. I said that my friend had it and would arrive shortly. On standing there for a few moments I had to ask where should I sit!! Moments later my friend arrived and waved to me. Again the waiter said to her \"can I have your voucher?\" Without a hello or a welcome. Moments later he approached our table to tell us the terms and conditions of out voucher. This experience was utterly mortifying as he went on to explain how we couldn\'t share a glass of wine / a starter or a main course implying that we were cheap skates before we even ordered from the menu. His speech about what we could and could not do lasted about 5 minutes during which I was made feel thoroughly embarrassed and angry at such an implication . We did not complain at the time as I honestly couldn\'t face being embarrassed further. I was absolutely appalled that they would treat a customer who has eaten in your restaurant at least 10 times previous in such a way. During our meal three middle aged ladies who were also availing of the offer were also receiving the long winded insulting speech and again I could see that they were very embarrassed about the whole situation. I emailed the restaurant with my complaint and have received no response. I will not be returning to this restaurant again

Tables too close together. Would be better if staff were more friendly. A la carte expensive but early bird was reasonable. Food was nice.

Very enjoyable first experience. The restaurant was warm and cosy. The waiter explained the details regarding the voucher, items on the menu and recommended wine to accompany the meal. Meals were very tasty and hot. The other customers appeared to be having a good time also. Will return sometime in future

Not surprising that the restaurant was practically empty considering the storm blowing outside, but the warmth of the staff created a nice welcoming atmosphere. We presented our Menu Pages meal deal voucher at our arrival, entitling us to two starters, mains with boiled jasmine rice, desserts and teas/coffees. I had spring rolls with a sweet chilli dip to start which were light and crispy and delicious. My husband ordered a duck starter, which he enjoyed and we both had Massaman curry as our main, it was superb, one of the best I've ever had and there was alot of it too, so much so that we just ordered one dessert, grilled tropical fruit with ice cream, it was just ok, the fruit chunks were too big and hard to break with a spoon, but the ice cream was good. We ordered one coffee and one latte to finish, we were told the latte was extra, not included in the deal. The waiter forgot to bring the regular coffee and just brought out the latte but my husband said it was ok, he wasn't pushed. When the bill arrived we were charged for our wine and the latte, which to be honest considering we just had one dessert and one coffee it could have been thrown in as a gesture, however, we enjoyed our evening, the food was very good and plentiful and the wait staff were very pleasant and attentive, topping up or water regularly. The toilets were clean and maintained. We will be back for sure.

Last night was my second time to this wonderful Thai restaurant. The first time I went a few months ago, I got one of their monkfish dishes and it was delicious. Last night my friend and I had one of the deal rush vouchers. There were restrictions on it (ie. no soups or salads for starters) and an extra supplement for steak and fish dishes for mains. That was fine, except I love Tom Yum soup! Anyway, the starters we did order were lovely. For mains we both went for very spicy panang curry, mine was prawn, my friends was beef. They were delicious, fab flavours and spot on in the level of spice. The deal included desserts which were also tasty (I don't usually do desserts in any restaurant)! Then tea and coffee. The house white was lovely and very reasonable too. There's a nice atmosphere also. The staff were lovely, very helpful and very friendly. We sat upstairs, the only tiny negative comment I'd make is that downstairs, the lighting could be a bit lower, just a small turn of the dimmer switch and it would be perfect! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Myself and my partner visited on a Sat night at half 6 with a voucher. The place was empty except for one couple. When we arrived there was four people around the entrance desk. We were shown to a seat right beside the kitchen door so it was a bit noisy. No complaints whatsoever about the food but for the mains we weren't asked if we wanted rice or chips with it, subsequently boiled rice arrived. For the whole duration of the meal there were about 5 people hanging around the entrance desk so we felt like we were being watched the whole time. Very uncomfortable. After the main we were left waiting 20 mins until someone asked us if we wanted coffee or desserts even though they were all hanging around the desk. No very professional at all

The place is very nice, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food seemed to be very nice, except we both ordered dishes that were too spicy for our puny tastes. That was our own fault and we both thought they were very nice, depsite the heat.

I purchased a Menupages deal for this place some time ago. We had booked to go a couple of months ago and then my wife fell pregnant and had to cancel as she was not up to eating Thai food. If you know anything about the first trimester you will know why. I noticed on the 11th that the voucher was about to expire on the 15th so booked for the Sunday evening. My wife took ill again and we tried to use the voucher for take away instead. No joy there so it had to be the Tuesday 15th as they close on Mondays. We went around at 5.30pm after picking up our 17 month old daughter from creche. There were already 4 or 5 tables occupied at that time and a few children around. The staff explained the voucher system to us and we ordered. To start, I went for the chicken saty skewers and my wife had the breaded prawns. Both were ample portions and very fresh and tasty. Our daughter loved both!!. For mains I went for the Red Chicken curry and my wife had the veg massaman. All three of us enjoyed them immensely. The seasoning and heat were pitched just right. The staff and service were first class and very child friendly. We will defiantly eat here again. Even without the voucher they have a very reasonable early bird menu.
