A few of us decided to have dinner here last night so we reserved a table and came early for the Early Bird. We waited to be seated for more than 5 minutes, we were seen but ignored from what I could gather - maybe you are supposed to seat yourself..it is a pub, not a restaurant so maybe that was our fault. We were given Early Bird menus which is fine, we had planned on eating from them. The variety on the menu was quite good for meat eaters and very good value at 2 courses 13.95, 3 courses 17.95. The group mainly ordered battered cod and chips which were good, the vegetarian meal was either penne with tomato sauce, Why would anyone choose something they can have at home? The other choice was more interesting and really tasty, a mille feuille of roasted veggies and halloumi cheese - they were all layered and baked, no pastry. Dessert choices ranged from rasberry roulade, apple crumble, chocolate brownie, Bailey's cheesecake and ice cream selection. We went with brownies and ice creams. Brownie was adequate, ice cream, not great. Coffees were good. We asked for the bill and noticed that we were charged full price, not Early Bird prices so we queried it. We were told that we should have said that we were ordering the Early Bird and that for future notice we should know that...? We ordered from Early Bird menus, does anyone want to pay the full price when ordering from an Early Bird? They did reduce the bill to EB but it left a sour taste and felt a little like bold children!

Went in here last night just for a small spot of dinner and loved it. OK, so it's effectively based in a pub, and we went in on a quiet Tuesday night, so the atmosphere was probably lacking a little. Thankfully though it's sectioned off from the main pub area, so you're not eating dinner with the people around you drinking and making noise. The food is fanstastic. Very tasty, well presented. In line with the recent style to move back to a more general/Irish menu rather than the usual ethnic cuisine which was popular during the boom years. But it's not pub grub, oh no. This is a proper restaurant serving excellent food at an extremely affordable price. This is not a restaurant to get dolled up to the nines and have a waiter on standby beside your table all night. But it's not marketed as such. If you just fancy going out for a tasty meal without breaking the bank and maybe a couple of quiet drinks afterwards, you can't go far wrong in here.
