We have had late breakfast / brunch here twice recently. The breakfast is quite sizeable and pretty reasonably priced. On the plus side I have to say the potato cake with scallions that comes with the full Irish is absolutely delicious. I'd have it every day if I could! Minus for the rashers: the thick pink kind you get with every hotel breakfast (what's wrong with thin crispy and properly cooked??). All in all a nice brekkie though, hence we went back the second time. Coffee is good and I think is included in the price before 12. The decor is nice but the room can be noisy, especially if a lot of people with children. We wanted to be seated in the empty/ quiet area of the restaurant but were told we couldn't, as there was a booking for later on. We ended up sitting near the tills, outside the main restaurant area which turned out to be quite cosy.

Enjoyed a lovely evening here with my wife on Sunday evening about 5:30pm. It was not overcrowded and the furnishings, layout and smartness of the place is very warming and comfortable. We had just the two main courses and a dessert to share which were reasonably priced as expected but the wine list starts at €21+ which might take you by surpirse a bit. Nevertheless, the wine chosen was very good and at the right temperature. Our meals of roast lamb in wine jus, fresh vegetables, and lightly battered haddock, chunky chips with mashed peas were to our surprise served quite quickly but they too were excellent. After sharing the chocolate cake and ice-cream dessert, we lounged the next hour over coffee and the wine remainder, delighting in the atmosphere. A very pleasant place.

Went here with 2 friends for girlie night out. Initially we were seated sandwiched between 2 large parties. We asked to move and ended up seated at front door through which an icy wind came in every time someone came in or left. Waiter very friendly and efficient. Starters were well presented and tasty however mains were very disappointing. Pork loin was very tough pork chops and the lambs liver was overcooked and tough. We complained and were offered complimentary desserts. We finished with Irish coffees but these too were disappointing. Shame as we had heard some good reports and the decor is really nice. There are lots of good places to eat in Terenure/Rathgar so Brambles would want to talk to their chef
