Went here for a friends birthday. Food is delicious but portions were a bit small. Bad choice of desserts. Nice lively buzzy restaraunt but as the food is cooked out front man does it get hot! All in all wipeth a visit but dont go too hungry or you'll be leaving pretty hungry too.

I've been here twice now and can't recommend it highly enough. Its a great little place to stop into if you want dinner out without the guilt of paying so much etc.
The place is small, and not exactly intimate as it also operates as a take-out, but it is really worth visiting. Lots of times!
The food is so delicious, I often find myself dreaming of that chicken dish with pomegranate (can't remember what its called!) Starters are great and very cheaply priced, and main courses are very generous and also at great prices.
The BYOB policy is something I really appreciate, and the staff are very accommodating, providing bottle opener, wine coolers etc.
My advice is : arrive hungry!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. Hidden away down a side street in Rathmines, you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. But at the same time, it's always buzzing and packed. Going here on the weekend, I'd recommend booking in advance.
Service is always great and the open kitchen is a nice touch as you get to see the food prepared. The food is delish as well as very reasonable, they've plenty of nice dishes that I've tried over the past two years of going there but my favourite dishes are the 'Arayess' and the 'Shish took' (excuse my spelling!) It's bring your own wine and no corkage which is also really good.
I'd highly recommend this place.

Visted Little Jerusalem for the first time last night. The restaurant is small and intimate with a great athmosphere inside. I love the decor and the BYO policy. Makes dining in Rathmines a treat. Will definitely be back!

I ate here recently with some friends when we arrived the place was buzzing a great atmosphere, however no one greeted me and two of the waitresses stood at the back of the restaurant watching me as I made my way to the back of the restaurant where I could see two of our party had already arrived. We had booked a table for four, and either they had forgotten us or were really making the most of all the space in the place to make an extra Christmas buck !
Our table, which looked like a very temporary piece of furniture was thrown in the back . We were blocking the walk way to the to the toilets and the kitchen. We could not even sit two opposite two. Two of our party were on the inside of the table, while i had to sit partially blocking the kitchen & toilet entrance and my friend at the top of the table was completely blocking the entrance of toilet. As you can imagine in a full restaurant all the followed was us constantly being knocked into by waitresses or bathroom users every 5 mins and depending on the size of guest wanting to get by, having to stand up to let them pass, annoying is putting it mildly. Our starters were good, so i was hoping this was a sign things were looking up, then after an hour wait for our main they, brought me out the wrong Lamb dish, they promptly changed this, however when the second lamb dish came out it had half the amount of meat then the first dish and was cold.
When we had booked we were advised we would have to give the table back at 9.00pm, no issue there. At 8.40pm the waitress gave us the dessert menus and hovered over us to order, when we said we needed a minute , she walked to the next table and then back to us within 30 seconds, telling us we had to order immediately as they needed the table back. We declined her abrupt offer and decided we would finish our wine for the last 20 minutes and go, less then one minute after the first waitress had told us then needed the table back, We had 20 mins left !!!! Little Jerusalem is cheap but certainly not cheerful, the staff like the food are cold and unwelcoming, i will not be back!

What a great little place! It's off the beaten path and tucked away in Rathmines, the inside is small but so full of ambiance, this place is popular, great buzz. I had the fish which was cooked in an excellent sauce, my only let down was they don't have proper arabic garlic sauce! Policy is BYOB

3.5 Little Jerusalem 3.5 star review:
I have visited this place on a number of occasions and for the first time was a little disappointed with the experience. Firstly we were seated directly beside the draughty door which let in freezing winds any time it was opened (which was frequently). We weren't the only ones perturbed by this. Second, my main course (shish taouk), although very tasty, was served on the cold side of lukewarm. Lastly, the normally generous portions of garlic sauce have been reduced to a barely visible drizzle. On the other hand, the falafel and hummous were excellent. I only hope this popular venue does not continue to reduce attention to detail with increased success.

11 of us went to Little Jerusalem last night for my boyfriend's birthday. I was looking for a BYO restaurant and there are very few of these in Dublin so it was great to find one we hadn't tried before.
We were all really impressed. There was a lovely cosy atmosphere with mouth-watering aromas coming from the kitchen. Bottles of water were put on the table without having to ask and there was no rushing to get the order in, even though some of the group arrived late.
There was lots of choice on the menu and the waiters remembered who had ordered which dish when they came out, which was very handy since none of us could remember or pronounce what we had ordered!
Everyone really enjoyed the meal. The food quality was excellent and it was great to eat something really different from the usual. I had meat parcels to start and then a lamb dish on naan bread with mint, yoghurt, nuts and pomegranate seeds, both delicious.
The total bill for 11 starters and mains, 3 deserts and a few coffees, came to €270 - cheap as chips.
This is a great little place and also a good option for take-away!
