My fiancee and I ate quite often at this restaurant, it's located near our home. The last few times We ate here We both noticed the portion size had shrunk, but not the price!! (must be the recession) The last time was Saturday 12th of March last. Let me warn potential diners out there----- It will be our last visit too. The atmosphere was not great, the food below average, the waitress was pleasant, but She seemed under pressure, (they appeared to be under-staffed) Life is too short and money too tight to waste on an overall dull evening. The food was dull, the atmosphere dull, and the overall experience was sooo disappointing!

I thought I was a valued customer at Excelsior, until this evening............ I ordered a take-away of one main course, and two starters. An hour later the food arrived. A Manager took my order by phone, & had given me a main course size portion of Aromatic Duck, not the starter size I ordered. He also charged me twice the price!!! I rang him, he agreed he had taken my order. I told him that We eat in his restaurant regularily, and order take-aways at least once a week, and as a gesture of good-will I thought he'd just charge the starter price. It was his mistake not mine!! .... His solution was to tell me to give back the Aromatic Duck to the delivery man and he would return with a starter size portion!! I will NEVER darken their door again!!
