We visited here last month, and must say that all in all the experience was decidedly average. We were using a menupages voucher so it was relatively good value, but we would have been less happy if we'd been paying full price - it's quite expensive for what it is (which admittedly is par for the course in Ranelagh).
Starters were the stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta - both of which are quite pricey if paying full whack - and while they were adequate neither set the world on fire. Mains were lasagna and ... well, I can't remember my own one, which kind of says it all. Desserts too were alright rather than anything special. Two nice glasses of wine were also served.
Service was grand - efficient and friendly - but there weren't very many others there so atmosphere was somewhat lacking. There was nothing in particular to moan about or anything, but we wouldn't be rushing back.

Very disappointing! A, group of 4 of us came her on Saturday night based on the wonderful reviews here. Table was booked for 7pm, busy night in Ranelagh, the downstairs was full so we were seated upstairs. The decor is very dated. We were given plastic covered menus to look over. The waiter didn't come back for ages, so we ordered drinks and food at the same time. I asked were the pizza thin crust which I was assured they were, turned out they are more doughy than I would have liked. The wine came out along with a sad plate of garlic bread for the table. The food was ok but very low quality, pizza for me,good size prawns though, the others got the carbonara which looked uninteresting, the chicken wasn't too bad and the risotto which was basically just normal rice. We called back the waiter as the pepper grinder wasn't working. He initially didn't believe us until he himself tried and so replaced it.. not a good impression! The service was very slow, it took them ages to take the plates and it was a good half an hour before they checked back about dessert. The bill came to about €100 for 4 people which isn't bad but given the low quality of the food and the service its about right. Plenty nicer Italian restaurants in Ranelagh unfortunately so I wouldn't be back.

I came here on Friday night on a Menupages deal. It was my third visit and again I was not disappointed. The place was buzzing so there was a great Friday night atmosphere. The decor is lovely with paintings of Venice everywhere and Italian music playing - truly feels like you are on holidays. The menu is very traditional but with enough variation to keep everyone happy. I opted for the thai prawns to start - prawns were fresh and cooked to perfection, and portion just the right size. I then had a chicken pesto dish which was divine, and a lovely boozy tiramisu for dessert. Everything down to the free glass of wine was superb. It's somewhere I hope to return to again and again - deal or no deal!

Excellent little Italian restaurant - well deserving of all the five star reviews on Manupages. I purchased the Menupages deal and went to Antica Venezia for the first time a couple of weeks ago with three others. From the word go, the staff were excellent - very attentive, friendly and efficient, but not at all intrusive. The menu though fairly small, has all of the Italian classics on it and each and every plate of food we received was delicious. The wine list is very good and priced fairly, We ordered the Gavi which was excellent. Although my voucher was for two starters, two mains etc, when the bill arrived, they had taken the two more expensive main courses against the voucher which was very generous. All four of us aggreed that we will definitely return here for decent Italian food in a charming atmosphere.

I come here quite regularly with my boyfriend since 2004 and I must say that It never disappointed and finally I am writing a long due review.
I am Italian and I just love the relaxed atmosphere, the soft music in the background and most of all the food!!!
I must say my favourite is the surf & turf with saute' potatoes just delicious, with a super creamy sauce (i think there is a bit of saffron in there, lovely!), the chicken wings are preatty special too & the homemade tiramisu' is to die for!
ENJOY!

Four of us ate in Antica Venezia and we had an enjoyable experience. With the voucher from menupages our choice of food was fairly good with something for everyone. The offer also included a bottle of wine . For this there was no choice and neither the red nor white was great. Dessert was also part of the deal but there was only a choice of two which was too limited. However the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were put under no pressure to leave despite being last there. it was what it was- a casual meal.
