Ananda's is definitely worth a visit if you want to experience indian food other than the standard takeaway. There is a lot of choice on the menu - something to suit most people. I would recommend the sea bass as a main course...it was delicious!! My boyfriend had the lobster and while it was nice it wasn't anything special. Everything we ate was very tasty and we couldn't help but get all three courses. The service was great. The waiter explained every dish as it arrived - it was nice to know exactly what we were eating (as there were quite a mixure of ingredients it was difficult to remember exactly what we had ordered!) Fancy food but decent portion sizes. We were also given poppadums with dips and an amuse bouche while we waited.

I had a meal in this restaurant on 18th March. Wow, it is fantastic. From the moment we walked through the door until we left everything was perfect. The decor is beautiful and we found the staff to be very polite and professional. We love Indian cuisine but most Indian restaurants in Dublin have almost identical menus which can be a bit boring. Ananda has a completely unique menu and also do meat and vegetarian thaalis (a complete meal with a selection of different dishes, rice and bread). There is a nice area to sit and have a pre dinner cocktail whilst studying the menu and wine list. There were three of us and we all opted for vegetarian or vegan choices. Each dish was wonderful. I had the most amazing green apple sorbet for dessert. Being vegan, it made a very pleasant change for me that the staff understood the term and advised me, unprompted, when I ordered a bread that contained a dairy product. I can’t wait for another occasion to go back to Ananda!

We ate there on a Thursday for the early bird menu. The athmosphere was very good and the place was quite busy. The service was excellent, not in your face but very attentive. Our water glasses were topped up all the time. I had a lamb kebab for starter and Guinea Fowl on a bed of black lentils for main, my partner had patato cakes and a meatball curry. I really enjoyed both dishes. For the quality of the food €20 for 2 courses is excellent value. I will go back again and again.
