The Submarine 4.0 star review: i love the sub i am always here if im going out for a sunday dinner .. i love there roast beef and there gravy is just out of this world. also very handy they do baby bowls and half portions for just 8.50 which is great for the standard of food. the desserts are a little bit expensive but nice to have a treat sometimes they have a range of cakes and ice cream. the bar staff dont leave you waiting long for a drink ether. and there is water on the bar with ice you can have if you want which is handy. great

The Submarine 4.0 star review: Have eaten here on a couple of occasions, I dont know since the Sub was refurbished a few years ago its lost that something...the carvery is basic, have to agree the majority of the time the fish thats on is dry because its been there so long, have tried the curries and the carvey, its ok, its alright for a bite to eat while on the move but dont go if your expecting a dining experience. The guy's behind the food counter are friendly and efficient, trying to get a drink to occupany dinner has proved in the past to be somewhat of a hassle for the floor staff though.

The Submarine 1.0 star review: Not a great place to eat at all.. I dont eat carvery anywhere because it sits there most of the day, the Sub's menu has alot on it but as i said i wouldn't be too pushed about eating in this place, Food salty, Over cooked, Warm-ish (if your lucky)..Tables left filty dirty, Glasses uncollected, staff could learn how to smile and be attentive etc etc..Gave it a 2nd go (benefit of the dought and all that) I thought first time i was really unlucky, but no, second time was pretty much the same..Would not recommend and would never return again..

The Submarine 4.0 star review: Really nice pub and a great place to go to watch the football. I go here for lunch every now and again, and there's a great choice of food, which is all very nice. Only thing that I could say as a negative is that it is a bit dearer than some of the other local places, though the food is worth it.

The Submarine 3.0 star review: Had Sunday Carvery here yesterday. The portions were huge (there were 4 slices of Turkey on my plate)and very tasty but the food really wasn't hot enough. It had obviously been sitting there for a while. The food was also very salty
The tables were cleared but were not wiped down. Overall, I do not think I would go back.

The Submarine 2.5 star review: Had the carvery here a few weeks ago but was quite disappointed as it wasn't very hot and wasn't very tasty either. Shouldn't complain I suppose for the price, but other carveries manage to keep it hot.

The Submarine 2.5 star review: Had lunch here last week. The carvery looked and smelt amazing but we ended up getting soup and sandwiches. Great sandwiches and very generous with the fillings. Paying was traumatic! There was no order to the queue, and people were coming from all sides. All the tables had been cleared of dishes but not wiped. Stood at the bar for 5mins, trying to order a coke. Gave up in the end! There was no one behind the bar for most of lunchtime! Won't be returning to here again!
