The pub as a whole is OK, but I could not help noticing that a set of toilets conveniently placed near the main bar were reserved for staff only. Everyone else has to go upstairs. Would it not be better for the loos to be arranged the other way around?

Went here for a spot of lunch with a few co-workers. Got a lovely roast beef sandwich and side salad for €5 which was great value, and delicious! The caravary was a winner all round with the guys too, lasagne was fab, and the veg was al-ente, not boiled to death. Would definately go back, little gem in the middle of Ballsbridge!

Good for a quick no frills lunch. Staff are nice enough...guy who serves from the lunch counter (possible the chef) lovely chap.
The food is as you would expect from a pub and portions can be a lttle too much. Lasange was lovely, very creamy white sauce.
Go with no expectations.

Lovely pub, spotted Gabriel Byrne hanging out there last Christmas!. Very cosy with coal fire etc. Did try to eat there, this Christmas Eve, but for some strange reason, they weren't serving food and were closing early.

Have only been here for an early evening meal. We had a toasted sandwich and steak with chips. The sandwich was fine if unremarkable, the steak was fairly chewy and tasteless, though the chips were ok. Would definitely recommend going for a light snack or visiting when they have a proper spread laid out for lunch instead. Atmosphere gets bonus points for being able to sit by an open fire on a rainy Dublin day!

Definitely a good lunch spot as the food is laid out in heated tray style so you get served immediately, unless u want a sandwich etc. Good value for money however, they do tend to mess around with their prices a bit sometimes, e.g. charge two strangers differently for different portions. But maybe they have a set price. Overall review, nice food, not too expensive

The decor is horrendous but I have never encountered nicer staff that always have a bit of banter with you. They do a carvery lunch which is always nice and very cheap. Chicken wings are also good but they have the wing and drumstick attached which makes them look a bit unappealing
