Went here last Thursday with my boyfriend. I really like this place as it has a vegetarian version of nearly everything on their menu. I ordered the vegetable enchilada. It was full of flavour and a nice portion without feeling too full or bloated afterwards. The service was excellent but it was a little on the pricey side for what it was.

Went here on a Sat. night as a group of 6. We had booked in advance, this place always seems full. The place is small and seats are fairly close but there is a good buzz in the place so you don't notice others so much. There are seats in a balcony area which overlook the main seating area. The service was great, the waitresses very attentive and friendly. The food was ok only, shared potato skins, nachos and chicken wings to start, all quite ordinary. A few of us had the chicken enchiladas as the main. They were tasty, a bit overpowering on the spice - it wasn't too hot, but you couldn't taste the meat or other ingredients. The chicken itself was in paste/paté form and it was served on a bed of rice. Service of 12.5% was added to the bill as there were 6 of us. All in all, it was only ok, glad we went there but won't be back too soon.

This was my second bad experience at Acapulco, the first time we were seated on the mezzanine level and we literally baked with the heat, it was so uncomfortable my OH had to leave the restaurant between courses to cool down, I can't comment on the food the first time as all I can remember is the heat! On our second trip we requested a seat down stairs thinking it would be cooler and it was minimally cooler but still too warm for me. Service was brusk, not friendly or unfriendly but functional, that is until we requested a bill from the waiter who brought up our espresso (but called it a cappuccino!) the bill failed to show, we tried to catch the eye of the other waiter to no avail for about 10 minutes and had to eventually call out loudly to attract her attention! The food was boring, like they haven't changed the menu in about 20 years, I ordered Nachos to start followed by crispy tostadas. Both tasted exactly the same, same sauce, same ingredients. The tostadas were filled before they were put int he oven to warm them up, subsequently the lettuce was warm and slimey when I sliced into the tostadas. Just not appetizing. Having been twice and had two bad experienced I will not return here again, I have just one piece of advice, don't go here expecting a quiet evening meal, the restaurant is extremely noisy when full, almost overbearingly so, no fault of the owners obviously!
