Used to eat here all the time. Delighted to see it open again. Service was excellent. We both really enjoyed our food. My chilli main was particularly good very well presented and the different tastes on the plate were amazing. Overall a most enjoyable visit. I will return.

Excellent they are back!!! Went with friends and kids. Kids eat free on Tuesdays before 7pm and we had the EarlyBird. Great value the cheap package is only 14.50 for two courses. Cornchips and salsa , excellent fresh tamatillo salsa verde with lots of coriander and a lovely tomato red salsa the cornchips were freshly cooked I had the fajitas (supplement of 2.50) well worth it. My friend had the famous buffalo wings They seem even better than they were in the old place. The kids had mini enchiladas and kids fajitas.. Over all really nice great to see a success story in this recession the place was packed and I have to say I think El Paso is better now than it ever was. The menu is great value and the service was soooo friendly....I will be back now that I know where to get great tex-mex again..Welldone ELPASO 10-10

Really disappointing. We went for the early bird menu that we used to get in the old El Paso. They have taken Nachos off the menu and now it's just "chips and dip", which was essentially a bowl of warm crisps, and the tiniest pots of a VERY watery salsa and the strangest green dip which was later identified as coriander. El Paso has definitely lost its spark

WOW herad this place had re-opened. Its a good as ever even better. Had the Chips and dips to start for two.eight dips and loads of freshly cooked warm tortilla chips, they even gaves us more to finish our dips- nice touch.. Had the large buffalo wings they are just the best also we had sizzling fajitas.. extra servings were offered free of charge tortillas and sour cream, again nice touch.. It was that taste we have not had for years. Its like all the sauces etc. are homemade and fresh Delighted the place is open again.. Cant wait to return visit

Staff were very friendly however service was a little slow. Could have had more staff on as 2 large tables were taking a lot of the staff's time. Had Chips n Dips for 2 for starter, over priced for what it was but maybe we should have chosen something else. Chicken wings were really good, was given plenty of sauce and dip with them. Beef Burrito was nice and spicy. Popular spot for families but not great for a couple. If we do decide to go there again, we'd ask for a booth or window seat.

Thank you for taking time out to comment.
My apologies for your delay, when the sun shines Howth becomes very busy.
Unfortunately for you the timing of your visit was the same as the two large parties, 15mins either side of that and everything would have been ok.
Our chips and dips "for two" are a little more pricey than most places because six of the eight dips you get with them are freshly homemade with the highest quality and authentic ingredients.
I am delighted the staff were friendly and you enjoyed the food.
I would suggest that Sunday is usually a very busy and slightly unorganised day due to the fact that lots of families and kids are out for the day and most of the time just arrive in without booking ahead. All other days are more suited a dining experience.
Apologies for your delay.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Harry

Was delighted when El Paso opened back up and was delighted to find that it was as good as it always was, the food was fabulous, hot, fresh and tasty. The service and staff are next to none and always have a smile on their face when greeting you. There is a very personal touch which really makes such a difference, especially now as going out for a meal is a real treat with the economic downturn, so nice to feel special. I would recommend El Paso for all to try, Couples, families, parties etc, there is something on the menu for everything at a price that affordable.

having made my booking over the phone i wouldnt need to be off the table 'not to worry' i was told , starters mains were delish , just before ordering dessert we were told we had to leave as the table next 'sitting' was here , i asked to speak to manager/owner , were i reminded him of our conversation over the phone which he agreed, then went on to tell me 'he wouldn't try to keep people happy anymore' as the other people were awaiting the table , and he was getting hassle he told us in a snappy manner to stay if we wanted , why would we give our hard earned money to a restaurant who 'needed' us off a table( we would have moved no problem if we had of been given some notice or asked to go downstairs and have our desserts and coffee) hence to say we didnt order desserts nor did we leave a tip , it is a recession and any business is good business..... we went to findlaters and had our desserts and coffee, there was 8 on our table and i have to say its our first time in the new location we always loved it ... but on principle we certainly wont be back.

My apologies to you about the experience you had. It is unfortunate it worked out the way it did. Being a regular customer you will understand that we value our customers and the unfortunate incident is thankfully a very rare occurrence. You are all invited back to El Paso where you will be given a complimentary margarita after your meal. I hope you will return. Apologies
again for upsetting you and your friends. Harry

I was delighted when I heard El Paso reopened as it was my favourite restaurant when I was younger. The set-up of it is much more authentically tex-mex than it was in the original location after it was done up. When I was there I got the early bird special which was great value for a starter and main course, however I would be hesitant to go during peak times because the menu seemed a little pricey. The only thing it loses marks on is atmosphere; when I think of a tex-mex restaurant I expect it to be colourful and with a fun, loud atmosphere with mexican music playing. It had the music, and it was loud, but for the wrong reasons; every other table in the restaurant had kids at them; screaming kids crying because their food is too hot, or because they couldn't get chicken nuggets; sort of took away from the romance of the experience. Otherwise my experience there was ideal.
