We didn\'t get to eat here but have eaten before and the food is ok. We had to walk out today because of the sheer ignorance of the staff. I have eaten in many restaurants all around the world and never have I experienced the rudeness like the staff at this restaurant. This is not the first time either. However, we kind of gave them the You round for a pint tonight?

After a long walk on the strand we came here for much needed nourishment. Moloughneys did not disappoint. The service efficient and friendly. My friend and I both had the butternut squash ravioli which was amazing I could have eating a bigger portion of it though as I was so hungry but it was delicious with the sage butter sauce. My friend had a lovely carrot cake with lime cream cheese zest whilst I had a gorgeous Morrocan orange and almond gluten free cake it was moist and flavours were lovely. With two coffees total bill came to about €45 which was reasonable. I will definately be here again as I had my eye on lots of other meals like the beef, chicken and desserts like chocolate and salt caramel tart.

This is my second time going to Moloughneys and find it a lovely restaurant and will definitely go back again. The service was good, with friendly & helpfull staff. It has a really nice atmosphere and the food is delicious. If I could add o ne thing it would be a few more choices on the menu.

Two of us went here for dinner. The food was Great an the menu was what I look forward to eat most of the time. I had wood pigeon starter and venison main both of them were super. My partner had salmon starter and lamb for main he was delighted with his choice.
There is one thing that I felt a little let down, upon entering the restaurant there was no one to great or make us comfortable showing the table etc. we waited at the front door then went to the kind of bar area an asked them if we can have a table. Well it was the same with all the tables who came after us. It is a little suggestion to make your guests feel welcome.

Arrived for the tapas menu as it looked appetizing from seeing it on facebook. Had the salted cod which looked tiny but was amazing, with small bits of chorizo in it. Also had broadbeans (as I don't like them normally) in the spirit of adventure. They were ab fab, crushed with mint and a bit of parmesan. Himself had calamari for one dish which was plentiful and stuffed pork belly. Again, it looked small but was so filling, any more would have been a waste. €16 for 2 tapas and a glass of wine..

I had an early evening meal today and have come home disappointed. Positives are that its very nice inside and the service is good. We intended having the special 2 courses for 20 euros each which is available up until 7pm. The first disappoinment was the menu choice. It seemed very standard, nothing grabbed my attention but I opted for the Mackeral dish to start but was then told there was none. So second choice was a smoked salmon dish which was very tiny but very tasty. My friend had pate which looked ok and came with some flat bread. For a summer menu I thought the mains were heavy. I usually go for fish but there was only whiting which is not that interesting so I avoided the other meat options and had a chilly bean curry...nice but that's about it. My friend had a smoked chicken dish which was just a piece of chicken with some new potatoes, very boring. The a la Carte had some more options and there was a special lobster dish on but at a much higher price...so I guess if you want to have a reasonable two course menu then don't expect anything great.

I went here with 5 friends. We availed of a deal (not sure if it was early bird as they don't seem to be doing it anymore) for €55 which included 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine. It worked out very cheap per person. The food was beautiful, the service was very good also. Had a really nice time. Would come back again if the same deal applied but otherwise the A la carte prices are a little high. Other than that it was a lovely night out.

Went on Friday for a late lunch, 3pm adn was so impressed went back the following Monday for lunch. Food is of an extremly high standard, and the menu is different from your usual restaurants. Ingredients are high quality and flavours are gorgeous. Had delicious soup & sambo on Fri, my friend had the fish of the day. Both dishes were really nice. Went back on Monday for the 2 course lunch special, had pear/goats cheese/nut/salad -really unusual & nice. Main had a vegetable curry -delicious flavours, very well presented. Friend had the soup & a lamb burger with homemade chips -really tasty, very well cooked, flavours mixed very well. Waiters are very attentive, topping up glasses of water without being asked. Atmosphere is very relaxed, you can take your time over lunch, not a problem to sit & drink coffee/read a book. Deserts look great, but we were too full, people at other tables had come in just for coffee and cakes. A little pricey for a lunch menu, but balanced out by the wonderful flavours, great service and relaxed atmsophere. Will try night visit next.

6 of us went here for a birthday meal. I'd been before for lunch and loved the place so we tried it for dinner. All loved the ambience. We arrived at 7pm and had the table for the night. A bottle of Prosecco to start @ €23 was excellent value.Everyone loved their meal - no complaints from 6 individual palattes was a compliment to the chef! Food presentation was excellent. We had different starters, pate, mackerel, courgette & feta fritters & chicken wings. No complaints. For mains, we had pork belly (OMG to die for!), sea bass, plaice and all were delicious. The only disappointment was the chicken which my friend said was dry. For dessert we had chocolate tart, chocolate brownie, plum meringue mess and all were enjoyed. We had a delicious bottle of pinotage with our meal. One of the best things about the night though was the staff. They were so helpful and friendly - nothing was a problem. The AC was blowing cold on our table, so without another word it was turned off. The staff seemed to be very happy working there. One of my friends mentioned it was a birthday meal, and when the desserts came out (without us asking) they had a candle in my friend's pudding and the staff sang happy birthday. Loved the place, loved the food, but good service and friendly staff make a good night a great night!
