Had a lovely family occasion here, food was exceptionally good, enjoyed by all. The bill for 12 including 6(?) bottles of wine came to €413. Everyone was impressed and eager to return.

Fabulous food, great menu, it's called the mid week cheap n cheerful. It is that in name only, there is nothing cheap about the quality of the food. There is also a lovely intimate atmosphere, highly recommend it

This is a lovely spot, the owner is the waiter and will explain the menu to you in minute detail. If you don't like the way they do it, they will cook it the way you like it! No nonsense! There was a good crowd tor a Wednesday evening, considering school was starting again the next morning. Well worth a visit but book early for a weekend night.

Visited Hemmingways midweek to take advantage of their 2 course offer which lets you pick from a starter and main course. For a fixed menu option, there is a good selection of main courses includes steak option (mine was great!) and selection of fish\seafood (prawns, monkfish, cod, plaice, daily specials).
It's a pity that the restaurant doesn't have an outside area but if you're anywhere near Clontarf midweek and fancy a treat, this is worth a visit.

Tried this place for the third time. Very disappointed.
I just wonder whether the Chef / Owner has ever visited Spain or indeed even tasted an authentic Spanish dish because the paella and pil pil are NOT "Cooked the Spanish Way".
The Specials Menu seems to be the way to go. At least the fish used in those dishes is fresh.
Third time unlucky. Won't be back.

The food here is amazing, especially when you like garlic! The restaurant is small and intimate which lends to a very cozy atmosphere. The guidance of the owner is also welcome, he encourages interaction and will cater to your requests. I don't get here often enough!

I absolutely love this restaurant.. Definitely my favourite in Dublin... The food is amazing and the atmosphere is always great...
I had the signature prawn pil pil dish to start last night followed by the Spanish style Hake for main which was cooked to perfection...
I like that the owner seems to know all the diners by name.... It's just a great restaurant...

.Six of us went for the Valentine Special i.e four courses plus a bottle of wine per couple for 75 Euro. Between us we had most of the dishs on offer, all very enjoyable and had a lot more than the offer of wine i.e three bottles. The host is great fun and very obliging especially if one wants any variation on the meals on offer. A very enjoyable night at a quite reasonable price.

i visited Hemmingways as part of a family group of 19 for a pre Christmas lunch. It was excellent. Despite the diversity of our group, everyone rated their meal as excellent. The food, service, ambience and value were terrific. All but one of us choose seafood, and it was excellent. At Hemmingways they understands food. They prepare it beautifully and along with the excellent serviice, friendlieness of the staff and delightful ambience, it makes for a great occassion. i will be going back before too long.

Love this place. The Pil Pil prawns are to die for. Very relaxed atmosphere and the food is so tasty and very reasonably priced. Only downside is they dont have highchairs.
