Citron Restaurant at The Fitzwilliam Dublin.
Chic zest for life at Citron.
Why is everyone smiling?
There's a buzz in the air and it's coming from the haven above in Citron, our casually stunning restaurant on the mezzanine level above the lobby.
It's always been a fun, funky place to eat, as you perch above, observing life below and those familiar faces coming through the hotel doors.
But now there's a new excitement - a new chef extraordinaire - a new menu - a new delight on the faces of your fellow diners. Everyone is really enjoying this. That's why they're all smiling.
You simply won't believe your palate as the lobster ravioli melts in your mouth. You read that this is an ossobuco veal jus bread mousse and onion baji but your other senses tell you that it's a taste of heaven.
Nicely priced, elegant, convenient and, well, simply scrumptious. Citron awaits you.

3.5 Citron @ Fitzwilliam Hotel 3.5 star review:
Dined here on a Saturday evening early with menupages voucher. With a new head chef I was looking forward to a new experience. Both of us really enjoyed the starters of hot smoked salmon and pork belly which were full of flavour and imagination. The study of beef and duck were nicely cooked but maybe something more imaginative would have put it up at the same standard as the starters. The wine menu is a bit sparce. Overall a nice meal and couldn't fault the service. A pity that the layout hasn't changed much since the last visit as it still has a hotel feel about the place. Will return again once the new chef menu changes have taken place.

This was my second time to Citron, beautiful flavours in the dishes. We had the duck to start which melted in the mouth and we aslo had the Pea risotto, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Main course was excellent, the study of beef was perfectly med rare as informed by our server. Service was excellent attentive, but not over the top. Would highly recommend Citron.

Dining room could be made a bit less hotel dining room like , maybe section it a bit and make it more intimate. Otherwise the food was excellent and to quite a high standard and very good restaurent staff. We reallt enjoyed it and will be back.

Amazing food. Myself and my boyfriend ate here on Saturday night after getting an amazing deal on menupages. The staff were very attentive, but not in your face at all which was nice. They started by bringing us out the most inventive amuse buche I've come across, a chip and dip done like a line of washing and washing basket, it looked brilliant and tasted yummy too (although you would want to like garlic!) We both had the pea risotto with chorizo and squid to start - it was one of the nicest things i've ever eaten, really delicious. I had the baby chicken then for main, while he had the study of beef - both were gorgeous, the chicken was done on a bed of lentils, i found it very filling even though when it first came out i thought it looked a bit small. My boyfriend was impressed with the quality of the beef and polished it off with ease! For dessert I went for the Monte Carlo which I cant rate highly enough - just beautiful. Himself went for the Apple Trio which did look really nice also, but i was happy I stuck with the chocolatey goodness!
Considering I've eaten not so long ago in the Fitzwilliam's other restaurant Thorntons I have to say I much more enjoyed both the food, relaxed atmosphere and not so fussy staff. I would thoroughly recommend.

We dined in Citroen last night and really enjoyed the whole experience. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Presentation of food and flavors were really lovely. I had the study of beef for main course and it was just superb. We were too full for desert but they looked fab.

Dined in Citron last night on the latest menu pages deal. One small gripe to get out of the way quickly - slightly misleading deal - print led us to believe it was 3 course as opposed to starters, main & amuse bouche. Anyway we had no problem paying for dessert at the end as the choices were tempting and it was very good value!
I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and presentation. The amuse bouche featuring a faux garden and clothesline was visually impressive and tasty too! For starters I had the squid, pea shoot, chorizo & chilli risotto - delicious! My friend had the duck confit which was also very nice and a generous helping. For mains we went for the cod and salmon dishes. They were the least impressive of the dishes - however that was testament to how good the other courses were! Dessert for me was a chocolate mouse and blood orange jelly - caused a serious food glow :) The trio of apple desserts was the other choice - again very good! Overall the food was really excellent.
Service was very good throughout the night. We were the first in the restaurant for a 6pm booking and had a choice of table. It filled up later in the evening but we were regularly topped up with water and allowed to relax over our wine and coffees until 9.30 - when we left at our choice! All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
In some ways, it's a shame the restaurant is located in a hotel. You need to take a lift down two floors to use the bathroom and it's very open and resembling a canteen in spots! If this was a standalone restaurant, i'm sure it would get the praise and press attention it deserves! Anyway i'd definitely go back and recommend it...

One of the best meals I have had in Dublin city centre in the last 12 months, and I dine out once or twice a week. Food and presentation was superb. Staff great. My partner is vegetarian and we both got great meals. Great value, although we were on a menu pages voucher. Athmosphere a little clinical and lacking, otherwise a 5.0. Highly recommended. I have booked to return this month.

5.0 Citron @ Fitzwilliam Hotel 5.0 star review:
My friend had a Menupages voucher for dinner for two.
Neither of us had been here before, so were unsure what to exect, plus having the voucher, we were not sure whether we would be given the most remote table. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and given a choice of seats. We were not in slightest way made feel 'embarrassed' about having a voucher. The service was amazing, really attentive without being too invasive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. We had a few different members of staff dealing with us and each of them were extremely courteous and professional. We were both very impressed, have recommended it strongly to all our friends and have booked to go back there again! Best voucher deal I have ever had. Even without the voucehr deal, it is a lovely place to dine. Highly recommended..

Went to Citron with a friend - we are both French and demanding when it comes to service and food quality. i have to say we have been more than pleasantly surprised with both. Services of a 5 star restaurant - discrete and at your service - food was beautifully served and tasted amazing. Perfect winning combination. The manager informed us of a early bird menu - i will certainly be back.
