Shanahan’s on the Green 4.5 star review: I went here with my wife for Valentines night and it certainly didn't disappoint. Service is first class from the moment you enter and the decor and music match the fine dining experience. We were firstly served freshly baked bread and muffins which you msut avoid the temptation to devour completely to savour themeal ahead. My wife ordered from the table d'hote menu which is tremendous value. She had a caesar saladand petit filet steak and both were excellent. The cookies and cream cheesecake also was superb. I went for the a la carte and had sauteed garlic shrimp to start which were juicy and delicious and also a petit filet which was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. We also ordered a "small" side of fries which was more than enough for 2 and had crispy onion strings also. Again all were perfectly cooked. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for any special occassion.

Shanahan’s on the Green 4.5 star review: I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday meal and we chose the early bird - 3 courses plus petit fours, and tea/coffee for 45 each. It was absolutely gorgeous. One of the nicest meals, of not the nicest meal we both have ever eaten. The steak was cooked to perfection for both of us and the crispy onion strips which accompany the early bird are to die for. We were also treated to a glass of champagne to toast his birthday. The staff are amazing too. Already trying to figure out another special occasion to go back. Well worth it

Shanahan’s on the Green 5.0 star review: Dined here, A La Carte for a family celebratory meal - it was amazing.

The staff are professionals at their best - they are attentive, but not over bearing, or ostentatious... they are friendly, but not over the top, and they work hard.

The meal was amazing, the starters show the chefs creative flare, and they really set you up nicely for the mains - the steaks!

Obviously, the pricing is VERY high, so can't say its the best 'value' in Dublin - but for special occasions of significance who wants value - you want a leisurely meal with delicious wine and a beautiful atmosphere - then this is the place for you.

Shanahan’s on the Green 4.0 star review: Went to Shanahan's for lunch for an anniversary treat. We ordered off the set menu €45/head with 3 options for each course. I was slightly disappointed with the offerings for the 1st course as it was different to that advertised on the website and ended up ordering the ceaser salad, which while lovely is still just a salad on a rather expensive lunch menu. My husband had the salmon bilini which he enjoyed and the breads that came prior to the starter were amazing. In fact the bread is so good it is hard not to fill up on it so be careful!

The steak main was fantastic and came with onion rings, really lovely spinach and potatoes. Both deserts were great as well.

Wine list was extensive and petit fours and complimentary champagne was a lovely end to the meal.

The service was impeccable and we really enjoyed the afternoon.

Shanahan’s on the Green 4.0 star review: Tried the early bird offer, what a great deal. €45pp, off table by 8.30pm There is a choice of three starters, mains and desert. Had starter of smoked salmon on pancake, it was a v generous portion and it was v good. there was a soup and salad on offer. Mains were 6oz fillet steak, 8oz sirloin stake and fish. Steak was v good, served with mashed potato, spinach and fried onion, generous portions. desert was cheesecake, which was good. coffee was also served, although no petit fours as per menu!! Service as always is good and non-intrusive. bill was presented in order that we vacate table on time, although it did not appear that the table was needed!! Worth a visit, good value, great food and nice atmosphere, it was quite this night

Shanahan’s on the Green 3.5 star review: I tend to visit Shanahans only two / three times a year and one of these occasions is always at Christmas when a gang of us get together for our annual Christmas Lunch. Since 2004 this has been in Shanahans.

I retuned there in October for a meal with my wife and as usual the food was fantastic. The bread at the start, the onion rings and the steaks are always great. However they really need to cop on with the prices and realise that when every other restaurant in the country is fighting for business they cannot continue charging exorbitant prices for a steak, regardless of how good it is. There are several other establishments close by with quality exceptional quality steak at half the price of Shanahans.

I had assumed that they would have reduced prices but was amazed to still see starters at €20 plus and an 8 oz Steak at almost €50. This is before ordering any additional rings etc!!

I will admit the food is great but no greater then several other city centre restaurants. Needless to say we have decided to move the party of 16‘s Christmas Lunch to another venue in Dublin 2 who are offering some value and trying to entice people into the restaurant.

Shanahans, great grub but please cop on! It may explain why the restaurant was almost empty the night we attended.

Shanahan’s on the Green 5.0 star review: I never thought I'd actually eat here, I always thought it was far too expensive (though always wanted to anyway!) It was such a nice surprise then, when my father visited from the US & took my husband & I there for because he fancied "a great steak". A great steak indeed! Though we hadn't planned on it, we all went for the Early Bird. There was a good selection, and the Petit Filet was more than enough when you have three courses plus side dishes. The food was divine, I couldn't fault a thing. The service was top notch. The wine was fabulous (though the wine will push your bill up), and as a bonus, the waiter knew the wine list inside out. I had thought it might be a little 'stuffy', but it was nothing of the sort - we all found the atmosphere very relaxed and calm.. and we're already looking forward to our next visit back!

Shanahan’s on the Green 4.0 star review: Excellent service in beautiful restaurant but food is absolutely not worth the price. Scallops for starter were overdone and did not taste particularly fresh. I had a fillet steak for main course which for the price was not worth it. Main courses come without anything accompanying it so you also have to order very pricey side dishes which aren't particularly good quality vegetables. Worth it to visit once for the setting and good for a business dinner/lunch but will not be returning.

Shanahan’s on the Green 5.0 star review: We were able to visit Shanahan's again this year and ate in the downstairs bar. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The three of ate filet mignons and a rib eye steak that we all agreed were superb. The service was exceptional and we couldn't ask for a better meal in Dublin. Well worth the price!!
