This was my 2nd time to New Millennium and my family and I will be going back again. I don't understand why the bad reviews. The staff were friendly towards my husband and I, especially my son. The dim sum were fresh and they freshen your cha whenever they see an empty/nearly empty cup.
Very good value for money as well - coming from a Chinese point of view. My Irish husband and son enjoyed the dim sum a lot.

This was some of the worst food I have eaten in a long time. Four of us popped in after a matinee at the Gaiety next door around 5pm, place was empty. Ordered a number of dim sum and half a cantonese roast duck. Food was greasy and rubbery and either half-cold or tongue-searingly hot from the microwave. The duck was flabby and undercooked - the worst I have encountered (and not cheap at 20 euros). We had ordered fried rice but got boiled rice. When this was pointed out we got a full blast of bad attitude from the male waiter and by the time an extremely grumpy waitress brought fried rice we had more or less finished - ie eaten what we could stomach. We got out as quickly as we could. Really depressingly bad.

1.5 New Millennium Chinese Restaurant 1.5 star review:
Having read previous reviews we decided to try this restaurant. We eat out very regularly and I can honestly say I have never encountered such rudeness from a waiter in any other restaurant. The food was average at best and the place needs to be upgraded (wallpaper stained and torn). The ladies toilet needs attention also, looks ok but obviously has not been properly cleaned in a long time!
I could overlook much of this except for the dreadful attitude of the male waiter who served us. I must add that another female waitress also served the table and she was very pleasant. We won't be back ever and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Went here for the value menu with a couple of friends after work on a Friday evening. Excellent value, lovely food (especially the duck Cantonese), nice warm atmosphere with live music being played, friendly staff and great service. Will definitely go back again. Might even make it a Christmas night out with additional friends!

4.5 New Millennium Chinese Restaurant 4.5 star review:
I visited this restaurant for the first time with three friends using a menupages deal. I was a bit wary as the reviews I had read were so variable from really bad to excellent. I didn't know what to expect. We were greeted very warmly when we arrived and seated immediately. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly. To start, we ordered Salt and Chilli Chicken, Butterfly King Prawns, Salt and Chilli Prawns and Spare Ribs. The chicken and prawns were very tasty and exactly what I was expecting to get. I was a bit disappointed with the ribs. They looked very pale and not at all appetising however, my friend said they were nice. Our main courses of Fillet Beef and Prawns with black bean sauce were fine and the Duck Cantonese was delicious, very tender and lovely crispy skin. I have to mention two of the waitresses, Sherry and Flower. They were great fun and we had a laugh with them during the night. Will definitely return.

Visit this Asian restaurant with one my best friend and really enjoy the service , Amosphere , and the food. We try dim sum and one best I try for ages. We book in menupages and got a voucher for 4 course meal with wine for only €38.50 for two us which was one best deal I find on menupages. I will be back visit again with my friend soon. Give it 110% for this restaurant .

2.5 New Millennium Chinese Restaurant 2.5 star review:
Ate here with a friend last night. We initially went in for the 4 course early bird which on the face of it seems like great value, but with some closer examination is anything but!
Opted to eat off the a la carte instead, food was fine, nothing special, but it was not cheap. My main was €13.50 PLUS €3.50 for rice. Service throughout was efficient.
Won't be rushing back.

Worst Meal I have ever eaten!
I went here last Saturday with my sisters and I've never witnessed such bad service and food, I eat out quite a lot and am not fussy but this meal was terrible. I ordered chicken skewers in satay sauce for starters and the chicken was as requested. Two of my sisters ordered chicken and sweet corn soup and they said it was terrible, they took 2 spoonfulls out of it and couldn't eat anymore. When the waitress came to lift our plates she never asked was everything ok (when the food was barely touched), the main course wasn't much better, it was dropped at our table and the waiter never came back to see did we need anything else, I wouldn't mind if they were busy but there was about 2 other tables being used. When I complained about my starter the waiter threw his eyes to heaven and didn;t apologise! We complained to the manager and he barely listened to us. I was very disappointed with this restaurant.

Went here for lunch today - they do a really decent lunch special - main €9.50, then add a starter for €1.50 and get free icecream (or tea/coffee). I had the fried dumplings - very tasty & the beef, green pepper & black bean sauce, nice and light sauce, not at all gloopy! No complaints from any of us, we'll def return again.
