Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant 5.0 star review: We went here for the early bird and it was fabulous! The portions were very generous and they were complete; no need to order sides. The staff were very friendly and dealt easily with a few special requests. The guy singing is also a nice touch (even though he is slightly out of tune and didn't know the words).

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant 2.0 star review: How on earth is this restaurant in the Top 10 for food. I rang to book a table and it was so noisy the person taking my booking couldn't even hear me, it was my husband and my wedding anniversary and I requested a private table, he said it would be noted down. We arrived at the restaurant and were shown to a tiny table in the middle of the floor right next to the guy who was singing for the night. The tables are absolutely tiny. We weren't asked weather we wanted water for the table but two glasses were plonked down on the table, i asked for them to be removed and not 5 minutes later another waiter comes to the table holding two glasses of water again. We ordered two Mojitos to start with and a bottle of red wine. The wine came before the Mojitos, which took 20minutes to arrive, I could see the girl behind the counter, she didn't know how to make a Mojito and the manager came to tell her how to mix it. So now, we have a wine bottle, 2 wine glasses and two mojitos on this TINY table and the singing guy singing loudly right next to us, I couldn't even hear my husband talking. We ordered meat Tapas which was a wooden board with salami and olives and really nice bread, a bit difficult to get that wrong. We were left to pour our own wine, the chicken and prawn piri piri was good but not great.
We could hear the couple next to us talking, every word of it because the tables are so close together.
It wasn't a night to remember our anniversary by.
as we left, I called the manager outside to tell him that we had made a request for a private table and why couldn't they just tell us to have a drink and the couple in the corner would be leaving in 5 minutes so we could have the privacy we needed, i just felt all 4 waiters couldn't really be bothered to be there at all.
In fairness to the manager he understood what I was saying and even offered a voucher but it ruined our evening and I certainly would never go back there again...ever.

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant 3.5 star review: Went into town on sat nite looking for a restaurant for a quiet meal for my partner and myself. After a busy xmas wanted something nice but reasonable. stumbled upon Millstone, had wanted to go there for a while and we were attracted by the offer, 3 courses for €22.

although the atmosphere was excellent, they had a singer with guitar also on the nite, the food was decidedly average. slightly disappointing.

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant 2.0 star review: First thing I thought on reading the menu was that the prices certainly don't reflect the atmosphere. We were packed into the table and the waiters can hardly reach in. Anyway, I went for a Diablo Chicken & Prawn pizza in the end. It was very nice i have to say. Others were averagely happy also, with salmon and pizzas quite popular. At between €25 and €40 the steaks would want to be amazing, and I just didn't have confidence in the place for that sort of high end dining. Service was slightly haphazard, but friendly.

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant 5.0 star review: Having eaten brunch here previously, my expectations were high towards their early bird menu.
I was part of a table of approx 18 people, including children and a small baby. The staff were excellent, accommodating, efficient and friendly throughout our boisterous meal and I was very impressed at the food quality, at such a busy time on a bank holiday Sunday.

I had the garlic bread to start, there was a lot of it! It was tasty, roasting hot and fresh. Main course was slow roasted lamb belly, beautiful flavour and accompanied with minted potatoes and vegetables. I did enjoy this, though I felt a jus instead of a standard gravy would have been nice on the plate!

Dessert was creme brulee - outstanding!

My partner had the mussels to start, the sauce was beautiful, spicy and full flavoured. His beef was amazingly rare and literally melted in the mouth!

I would recommend and come back again!

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant 5.0 star review: Ate here as part of my dining club. The service was smiling throughout however a little more attention to detail could be applied. I ordered a drink which was forgotten and I had to ask again whilst everybody had been served their drink of choice. The starters were mixed up and those of us who had ordered soup (myself included) had to endure a wait whilst everybody else had begun eating their starters. Foodwise as mentioned above I had a soup starter which was very nice indeed. The bread that accompanied it was very good. For mains I chose a vegetable and goats cheese dish served in pastry. I found the portion size to be huge. I did enjoy it but had to leave a good bit behind but this was beacause of its size. I finished with an apple crumble which was fine. The atmosphere was good with a musician playing music. Overall value for money was good particularly in relation to portion size and taste.
