Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 4.5 star review: Came here with a grabone voucher. Really enjoyed it. We had one of the booths which was really nice as in some place they won't give one to two people even if it's not that busy. I liked the dim lighting and candles nice and relaxing. I had the mussels for starter they were really good, my boyfriend had the pork belly which was also really good. For main I had the special fish of the day, baked salmon in a pesto cream sauce, it was amazing, I really enjoyed everything, really fresh and everything worked well together. My boyfriend had bacon and cabbage which was also perfect. The staff were lovely and friendly and I really liked that they weren't over baring or our meal didn't feel rushed as many restaurants in dublin can make you feel.

Only negatives I have are, the bread served with the mussels was a dried out and the salmon was a tad on the oily side but didn't ruin my enjoyment of the dish. Also I would probably only return for the early bird as for two courses it's cheaper then alot of the mains which makes you think the mains could be cheaper by themselves in the first place.

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 2.0 star review: We went to Gallahers on a Wednesday evening. The bistro was reasonably full so we expected that service mightn't be as fast as at less busy times. What we did not expect was that it would take us over 20 minutes to get a waiter's attention to order in the first place and that we would end up waiting for our food for almost an hour. Even when we asked one of the staff after 45 mins it took another 15 mins for her to get back to us with what the problem was. As we had plans after dinner we ended up with no time to enjoy the food (which was ok but nothing special). And while it may happen that something goes wrong no explanation or apology of any kind was forthcoming from any of the staff. Even when we were trying to pay it was impossible to get anybody's attention. Neither at the table nor after we walked to the bar with the register did anybody even take note of us until we made it very clear that we were in a rush and needed to pay. While this may not be the case on a regular basis we will not be going back under any circumstances.

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 5.0 star review: Coming at this from a slightly unusual angle. Ate here twice recently and both times with baby & buggy in toe. The staff were only fabulous. So acommodating. I'm sure it helps that there were very few other people there in the afternoon but they really were lovely. As for the food, it was both prepared and presented with real care and attention. Yesterday I had a BLT which had the meetiest back-rashers and a huge ring of tomato. Ok, so you might not be picking it up as it was a bit awkward but it was all delicious. My wife had issuues with the greasiness of her chicken-wings but the rest was all top-notch. We were brought there only last week when we met a friend in town so it was an easy choice yesterday when we wanted somewhere to eat. We'll keep coming back if they keep those standards up.

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 5.0 star review: I stumbled upon Gallaher & Co Bistro just by chance last Friday night. After watching a late movie at the cinema, my boyfriend and I fancied something quick n’ tasty to eat. When we arrived at the Bistro, the kitchen was just closing for the night; however the very accommodating Host told us that it was ‘no problem at all!’ He offered us one of the booths by the kitchen, very spacious but cosy at the same time! From the booth (which was on a height) we were able to admire the classy décor of the room.

We ordered spicy chicken wings and a Caprese salad to start. I especially loved the chicken wings, and needless to say we ate every last bite! For our mains, He ordered the Hereford beef burger, as he had been ‘dying’ for a burger all day (or so he said!). I had the Fillet of organic salmon, which came with baby potato and asparagus, all in all a perfect combination. The salmon was delish, and He said that the burger certainly didn’t disappoint either!

Our waiter through-out the meal was very attentive and I found it easy to catch his eye when I needed him! Both he and the Host checked if we were enjoying our food, which I thought was a nice touch.

Tasty food, reasonable prices and excellent service; can’t really top that! So glad we ‘stumbled’ upon it and I will definitely be going back!

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 4.5 star review: First time to visit this place glad I did, for mains I had beef medallions with fondant potato which was very nice only problem was I could have done with on extra helping of potato. My O/H had burger which he liked they were served with lovely crispy chunky chips. This was followed by sticky toffee pudding, which we both enjoyed. The staff were good and the seating comfy. My O/H said he would try here again which is unusual as he doesn't eat out much

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 4.0 star review: Used to love this place as Mona Lisa and waited a while to try out as Gallahers. Came here for a meal last Friday with a friend, and the wine price has gone up so I just had a glass. The burger was really good and not burnt and my friend said her pasta was lovely, even better than Mona Lisa. I used to like the special offers they used to have, its much pricier these days, but its still a pleasant spot. Im sure Ill be back, maybe just not as often.

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 3.0 star review: Have visited this restaurant a few times now, as both MonaLisa and the new Gallaher and Co Bistro... Myself and my sister went there for lunch and decided to try out the special which was highly recommended to us by the waiter. It was a honey roast pork and stuffing sandwich.

It looked very impressive when it arrived but disappointingly it was not hot as we had both expected. However, the main issue I had with the meal was that I found a long piece of meat string in the sandwich.

I rarely make complaints unless totally justified, so I just mentioned this to the waiter when he collected our plates. He immediately informed the chef (the service was actually very good). Unfortunately, when he returned to the table he just stated that the chef advised that this was completely normal as the pork is tied with string during cooking. I replied that it was unpleasant to eat but no apology was offered. Overall, quite a disappointing experience. Will not hurry back.

Gallahers Bistro (formerly Mona Lisa) 3.0 star review: Went here on a wednesday evening with two friends. Decor looks stylish enough, but we found the place had no atmosphere and lacked soul. Service was extremely friendly and attentive, but you could see all waitresses were bored out of their head since it was just a bit quiet. Foodwise the menu looks impressive, a lot of things to choose from with very reasonably pricing. One of us got the chickenburger, a good sized portion and she was happy. Me and the other friend chose the large goatscheese salad and a side of fries. When it arrived we had to verify this was indeed the large portion, as it was a tiny bowl! And very unimaginitive, majority was rocket with a few tiny bits of sundried tomato and onion and a few chopped cashewnuts I could not even taste. Fries were soft and limp (We like a bit of crunch to our fries) and again: a very small bowl at 4 euro. It ended up 15 euro for a small salad and a small portion of fries, which I found not good value at all - I regret not choosing something else of the menu. This place has potential, but I wouldn't rush back soon.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
