The Whole Idea
There’s a simple idea behind Fallon & Byrne, and it’s this. They believe in wonderful food, fine wine, great company. They put it on their shelves for you to take away. Or they serve it to you, in any of several ways. You choose. They will even bring the whole experience to you to cater for an event at home or in work. In short, the answer is yes.

Their Pre-theatre and Cafe Lunch menus will be back in January

Fallon and Byrne 2.5 star review: Had a very disappointing dinner here last Sunday after previous positive experiences. Ordered off the early bird and was so disappointed. The cod and chorizo roulade was cold and bland and highly inedible. I had hoped for the sole main course but they were out, so that was replaced with plaice. The fish was smothered in a heavy creamy butter sauce and was not pleasant to eat. My mothers steak was tasty so I ended up eating half of that. They do half price cocktails on Sundays so that was cool!! But wont go back for food...very disappointing!!

Fallon and Byrne 4.5 star review: this is not my first time here but i keep coming back. the atmosphere isnt great because its a massive place so lacks intimacy and personalisation. however, this makes it great for big groups as there is so much space to move around, so its comfortable and you are not cramped up like in other places. actually, whenever i am here , we are in a big group. i guess its our number 1 place to book if we are a rather large group. the food is consistently good , so is the service. would always be happy to go back.

Fallon and Byrne 3.5 star review: Ate here recently for my other halfs birthday. Restaurant was quiet for a Wednesday night so there wasn't much atmosphere but staff were friendly and attentive all the same. We both had the pre-theatre, butternut squash soup and cesar salad to start - both ok, nothing fantastic. Steak for mains was cooked to order, a little fatty but otherwise very tasty. Cheesboard for dessert was yum, if a little small. Nice bottle of merlot to accompany it all. Overall a good meal, would return again in the future.

Fallon and Byrne 3.0 star review: Great location and atmosphere. Had drinks first in the wine bar in the basement but be warned that the only toilets are three floors above (there is an elevator). Food was good but not great and of reasonable value. I would probably return to the wine bar again but not the main restaurant. The wine bar does have a light food menu.

Fallon and Byrne 5.0 star review: Booked in for dinner for Dine in Dublin week. The restaurant is a beautiful space above the food hall, lots of light, room and a nice atmosphere.
We ordered a couple of their amazing cocktails (Dusk in Eden and an Old Fashioned) and also nibbled on beautiful fresh tomato and fennel bread which was still warm from the oven. There was a great selection of dishes on our menu, something for everyone. I also glanced at the a la carte and again I think most people would be happy with what was on offer.
To start we had steak tartare and caesar salad. Both without fault and delicious. For mains we had the braised Lamb shoulder and Chicken with braised short-rib cannelloni. The braised short rib really was the star of the show even though everything else was excellent. It was meltingly tender and really savoury and tasty. I could have polished off a whole plate on it's own!
They also have a fantastic selection of wines by the glass and we ordered a Pinot Grigio and a Syrah/Grenache to accompany our mains. For dessert we had Mississippi Mud Pie and a Bread and Butter pudding.
Service was a delight, again I couldn't find fault and we left feeling very full and very happy. For anyone thinking about trying it I can definitely recommend. Our menu was €30 a head so with drinks included came to €94. Extremely good value for what we had consumed. We will definitely be back so see what else Fallon and Byrne has to offer.

Fallon and Byrne 4.0 star review: I was there with 2 friends. We had pre-theatre dinner menu. I had roast butternut squash for starter. It was gorgeous. Rib-eye steak for main, it was just alright. The atmosphere was very dark, I find it hard to read the menu with very little lighting. It was noisy and it was hard to chat with friends.

Fallon and Byrne 4.5 star review: First time in the restaurant but have had nibbles kin the wine bar many time always very happy with the quality. I really like the atmosphere in the restaurant, nice lighting and loved the big bar at the end. I had the butternutsquash starter which was amazing as was the warm bread and butter. I had the chicken for main, loved it so tasty and juicy, I did ask for more sauce but only as I liked it so much. My partner had the steak for main which was quiet enjoyable but have had much better steak in Dublin. The cocktails were amazing and the staff great. I would return and reccommed.

Fallon and Byrne 4.5 star review: Booked an early bird here last Wed and was not disappointed. Starter of balckened salmon was delicious,if a teeny undercooked. Main of canneloni in tomato goulash was delicious , though I must say , my friend allowed me sample her lemon sole which was out of this world! Perfectly cooked with a gorgeous sauce....We were too stuffed for desserts, though I did buy an excellent vanilla cheesecake in the F+B shop downstairs for later...A++ and I am a cheesecake coinnesseur!! Mon + Tues cocktails are 2 for price of 1 , which is a good deal. Service was excellent and the maitre d' extremely helpful as always...

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
