Chatham Brasserie 3.5 star review: I went here with 4 friends on a busy Saturday night. We had been here before about a year ago and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately our experience this time was not so good Service was really slow and it took forever to get our order taken. It was also hard work getting the attention of any waiter throughout the evening. The food was good, but not amazing and given the prices, we found the portions extremely small. We even had to clarify with the waitress that the cheese board she put in front of us to share was indeed the large cheeseboard as it was not really enough for 2 people and we only ordered it because we were still hungry after dinner. Not the place if you're looking for value for money

Chatham Brasserie 4.0 star review: Had dinner here on a quiet enough wednesdayevening. We opted for the early bird, three courses for 20 euro. Breadbasket with butter arrived promptly, so did our starters (I had the mussels, he had the butternut squash soup) We are not the fastest eaters, staff came by twice to take away our dishes, even though we weren't finished! As soon as we were, the mains arrived. It was a bit annoying how they were rushing things (the restaurant was quite empty, so it's not like we took up space for potential other diners) Mains were lovely (trout with mash and spinach) Portions were not huge, so we decided to go for dessert: a lovely toffee pudding with caramel sauce and banana. We also shared a bottle of white and had two tea's after. total bill 75 euro. Very good value. I will come back, it's a cozy brasserie with good food and friendly staff.

Chatham Brasserie 3.5 star review: Ate here for my birthday. The service was pleasant and attentive. Foodwise I chose a goats cheese starter which was very nice in taste but tiny in portion size and not worth the price. My companions shared a chicken wings starter which they loved. For mains I had a fillet steak which was nice. One of my companions had a burger whilst the other had hake both of them enjoyed their mains. I had a cheesecake for desert which was fairly bland. The restaurant was fairly empty so there was not much atmosphere. My companions would return but I dont think I would.

Chatham Brasserie 5.0 star review: I loved Chatham Brasserie! Went her with a girlfriend on a Thursday but went early and had the earlybird. Only €16.95 for two courses! Place was very quite as it was only 6pm but a lovely little brasserie - very warm and welcoming. Service was great. I had pea soup for entree and Chicken in bacon & cheese with potatoes, mushrooms and a cheese sauce. wow, very good! and for €16.95 totally worth it! My girlfriend had the steak with chunky chips and veg and ice cream. Again both great and very tasty. Would highly recommend this place! Very good value for money. I'll be back!

Chatham Brasserie 4.0 star review: Enjoyed a night out with work colleagues who both opted for the beef burger while I chose the pork chop. We accompanied the meal with a nice bottle of red. Overall no complaints but nothing special either.

Chatham Brasserie 5.0 star review: I came here at the suggestion of my dining companion and it was the perfect choice for a cold winter's evening, all warm wood and candlelight. We had the early bird menu. The starters went down very well indeed: the black pudding was delicious, calamari very nicely cooked (but more whitebait would have been better). For the mains, my chicken and crushed potatoes were very tasty if not earth-shattering, my companion's steak a little less cooked than requested but nonetheless went down well. The service was friendly and relaxed, the portions good, the house wine was fine, and it was a very good deal for our money. All in all a good choice for a casual weekday dinner. We'll be doing it again soon.

Chatham Brasserie 4.5 star review: Went here for an early evening meal on new years eve and was very happy. The restaurant was very busy so glad we had booked ahead. We shared a starter and had the burger for a main course each, your can choose different toppings etc. Along with a few beers each, the meal overall was great. The staff were very polite but the service was a bit slow, i suppose considering it was new years eve it was understandable. Would defo return. Thumbs up from me!

Chatham Brasserie 5.0 star review: Both starters were very good value. Have to disagree with a previous poster re the kebab, it was nice and big and more important tasty. Service was discreet yet professional and they had 5 people working on a Friday lunchtime. Mains both cooked to perfection and a nice house red to go with them. Good value with 2 courses at €14.95 and 3 at €18.95. No complaints from myself or my dineing companion.

Chatham Brasserie 4.0 star review: I had lunch here with a group of friends recently and while previously loved this restaurant, am now a little let down. I had the calamari and whitebait to start which was plenty and very good, but my friend ordered the chorizo kebab and when it came it was so small and lost on the plate it looked comical. I had the trout for mains which was good if a little bland. My main criticism was the service. Our waitress took the bread despite being asked to leave it, and tried to clear away people's plates as soon as they were finished, regardless of the fact that others were still eating. I had to finally say something when she tried to take someone's plate when they had only turned away for a moment to speak to someone! Value was average, and the meal ended up being not particularly relaxed.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
