Lively eaterie that is deceptively spacious. Good, humorous, attractive staff definitely add to the mix! The food is good; some Italian, mainly European but always excellent.

Boulevard Cafe 4.0 star review: As it was early in the evening and it was relatively quiet the atmosphere was not great. However the food and service more that made up for it. The amounts were very generous and if anything too much, especially the beef and chorizo hotpot which was delicious. I will be back.

Boulevard Cafe 4.0 star review: Only second visit and as per last time the welcome and friendliness of the staff make this place special in Dublin, I was however disappointed with the mains this visit. The starters - two had prawns one the pork belly were devine but we all chose the duck for main and it was extremely over cooked in all cases. Still a pleasant visit but would think twice before going again.

Boulevard Cafe 5.0 star review: Has been many many years since being in Boulevard Cafe and it has come on a very long way since !! The service was good - ( could have been a tiny bit better to be totally honest ), guy in charge very friendly, had a laugh and would make me want to go back. the atmosphere was great and the restaurant was so warm and cosy. Most importantly the food was exceptional - I had a pate starter, it was delicious and came with a generous amount of toasts, i actually shared in end as there was so much. Both mains were the same, the prawn & pasta dish. To die for !!! Compliments to the chef - full of flavour. Very reasonable and I plan to go back soon !! Fair play to them !!

Boulevard Cafe 3.5 star review: Came here last night with 2 friends. We all went for the reasonable early bird (€19 for two courses). Very nice food for the price. I had the bruschetta (lots of real tomatoes) and tiger prawn linguine which tasted great (kick of chilli) and they didn't scrimp on the huge prawns thankfully. Very tasty. The other diners seemed please with pork belly and the gnochi.
The atmosphere can be slightly barren, but the Christmas decorations were just going up so it looked quite nice! Service was good this time as there were not too many people in, but I've been here before when it was quite full, and unfortunately they don't hire enough waiters for nights like that.

Boulevard Cafe 1.0 star review: We went here for lunch on Saturday and I have to say that the service was absolutely appalling! We arrived at about 12:50 and the place was pretty much empty, we were one of only two tables. We ordered by 1pm (chicken sandwich, burger and a coke), just main courses as we had somewhere to be at 2. The rest of the tables started filling up a bit then. At 1.30pm (that's right half an hour later) my burger arrived with cold chips. My coke never arrived, I had tried to get waiters attention several times in the half hour before but they were busy having full blown conversations with just one or two tables and wouldn't come near us. We waited another 5 mins for my boyfriends chicken sandwich (his chips were hot). When we asked for the bill, we took out the credit card straight away and the waiter came over with the machine, he handed it to me to put my pin in and then he just wandered off! He went to two other tables (chatting) back to the kitchen and then I tried to intercept him with the machine but he ran down the stairs quite quickly. I was late for my next appointment at this stage so I just finished off the transaction printing my own receipt and left.

So over all, despite being one of the first into the empty restaurant, we were left waiting half an hour for our food (at lunch time), my chips were cold, our dishes were brought out five minutes apart, my coke never arrived and when I mentioned it to make sure it wasn't on the bill there was no word of an apology or even acknowledgement, then they walked off halfway though what should have been a very quick transaction paying the bill, leaving me to chase the waiter across the restaurant and then eventually just print receipts myself. It was the worst service I've ever experienced anywhere and I will never ever go back.

Boulevard Cafe 5.0 star review: Superb find! Finished work late on a Friday evening and after being turned away from a number of fully booked establishments - with more attitude than aptitude, we stumbled upon The Boulevard Cafe. Staff were all extremely competent and friendly but never over bearing, we ordered the Pork Belly and Chicken Supreme both of which were excellent. We also had two bottles of wine and the best part of the evening was the bill - it seems good service, great ambiance and first class food really is affordable! Would highly recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back!
