I went here for the first time recently. The place was quite nice but a little cramped as a lot of the reviews here state. It was nice that they had a vegetarian menu when asked. I started with the vegetarian nachos which was really good because it had actually veg under a sea of grated cheese. When my main arrived I thought the portion looked quite small, but it turned out to be quite filling. We had originally booked for 10 but only 6 of us were able to arrive and the waiter who showed us to our table was a bit snappy about the fact that not everyone had turned up. I think on the weekend evenings the place is pretty pricey but they seem to have some good deals during the week and for lunch. I would probably go here again.

There were 12 of us for a Christmas party and the majority of us agreed that we would not go back. The mains and starters were served together on a platter plate which seemed to be an excuse for smaller portions. I had the salmon which was dry and roast patoto which was underdone. On the positive side anyone who had the rib eye enjoyed this. One of the group had the vegetarian option but was refused rice to go with the dish as this was deemed extra. Anyone who had the salad starter said the crutons were too hard, however half the group like the deserts.

Love the food. Its always amazing but I find it very cramped in there and feel like Im having dinner with strangers. Five euro cocktails always entice me in and the staff are great.

Great place to go for a tasty treat. I had starters Goats cheese salad which was best I have tasted in a Restaurant in a long time. €15 from the Apres work menu for three mini dishes is good value. Staff are very nice and wished us have a nice day when leaving.

I work close to Alfies so its always good for meeting friends for lunch etc. You have to get in early at lunch as its very very busy. The €10 lunch menu is excellent value and the food is delicious. Personally I enjoy the salad to start then burger and fries for the main. Served with a diet coke. I have only two negatives about Alfies albeit small ones. One the coke is always flat (silly I know but makes a difference). Secondly the staff, whilst excellent, rush up and down the narrow walkway soooo fast. I accept they are busy but my blood pressure was going as fast as theirs was just watching them. Would recommend it in any case. Excellent value.

we had the apres work menu its good value but if you want the prawns its an extra 6 euros that is just way too over priced i would have pre faired to have had a steak for that price, while the prawns was nice it was not worth having to pay an extra 6euros its pointless putting them on that menu.

From my one experience of this place so far, I can't see how you can go wrong - the cocktails are great and good value, the ambiance in the evening is really chilled but warm and inviting, the food was tasty and again, great value! Four of us ate from the 'apres work menu' & are already planning our next trip back. If the standards & value endure, I can see myself becoming a regular!

So predinner cocktails were delish! That's were to good story ends I'm afraid.....the cocktail waiter was extremely abrupt. We were seated for dinner and and menu was very mixed.....we had bread basket for starters, bread was not good but the crackers were! I had sizzling chicken for my main, was pan fried chicken smothered in a cream pepper sauce - not good! Service was very bad, we got two bills before we got the actual bill for our table! Wouldn't be rushing back but might go back for a mojito sometime!!!

I had my first visit to Alfie's and it definitely won't be the last.
The Aprés Work menu (choice of three mini-dishes for €15) was excellent value and filled me right up. The quality of the food was excellent, really tasty, and the service was prompt and polite.
The only downside is that when I ordered my mocha after dinner it arrived in a red wine glass, which looked stunning and really fancy, but meant I had to wait for it to cool before drinking it. Not taking marks off for it, though, because it was delicious!

I've enjoyed Alfies on each visit. On this occasion took my mam, sis & aunts, wasn't sure if they would like it but they did. Food is tasty and the Apres work menu (choose one dish from each of 3 sections & all is served together €15) is great value as are the €5 cocktails. There's a great vibe there and the staff are friendly too. I highly recommend Alfies.
