Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 3.5 star review: Went here with a Groupon, so was very nervous after reading the previous reviews. However, the owner must have been reading the reviews aswell, as things seem to have improved greatly. The service was great, waitress was efficient and welcoming, overall the place seemed very well run. The starter of prawns was generous. Initially the platter for 2 looked small, but once we got tucked into it, we were satisfied by the end. The quality of sushi was pretty good. Overall, very good value with the Groupon, and a very pleasent meal

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 1.0 star review: My experience in Mitsuba was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had in Dublin. The place is small and a bit dingy & other than the fish tank, it really lacks atmosphere. We waited well over an hour for our meals and then received them staggered over 30minutes, to the extent that one of our group had to leave when the rest of us hadn't even eaten! The food when it arrived was average though it was hard to tell as the two tepoanyaki meals were luke warm & I was shocked to find that they were also served on cold plates! The 'prawn salad also consisted of 2 measly frozen prawns and some shredded lettuce. When I complained about everything the manager had the nerve to tell me that it wasn't fast food and that was Japanese style. Well I have been to Japan and I think they would be disgusted at that suggestion. I would have happily swapped the experience for a trip to a fast food restaurant!
(I must say that on the plus, the waitress was lovely, the poor thing!)

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 0.5 star review: I recently got a groupon voucher for this place worth €53 I paid €25 ( nice saving) not exactly, I went with miss on Saturday night, got 2 starters and sushi sashimi platter for two (looks as everything was worth no more then €15). We was told by waiter then platter is big enough for two, but if we like we can order more (for extra charge ) I'm glad we didn't order anything else, food was awful, seriously the worst sushi I ever had, platter was so small it wasn't enough even for one person we had to go to our favor sushi place on caple street.
There is no atmosphere what so ever, the only good thing I can say about this place service is decent (nice and friendly people works there).
Guys avoid this place no worth to spend your money, there is plenty of much better places in Dublin.

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 0.0.0 star review: I went to Mitsuba with my wife today with a groupon voucher and need to say that was terrible experience. Before we get there I left 3voicemails and nobody called me back since. Finally we manged to book a table for 6pm on Saturday. After taking an order (teas, soups and main meals)it took 30min to bring small cup of soup (if you can call it a soup as it was water with some king of artificial flavor. To find find tofu and spring onion you would need a magnifying glass)which was almost cold. After next 15 minutes we had to remind a waitress that we ordered a tea before the main meal.It was pretty cold evening. Each time someone opened the door in the restaurant you could feel a cold draft. After next 40min we started to wandering where is our main meal as our stomach were already screaming. They promised to bring it in a few minutes.Next time we recommend to ask what does it mean:few min.as it might mean something else to each person. In the meantime there was a few arguments between clients and waitress as there was no table available despite booking in advance.People were standing in the middle waiting, opening and closing the door. After next 15min they finally borough my order Rib Eye Steak almost cold.Manager started explaining that it just because it is Saturday and they are not ready for such a busy evening but he will ensure it will be fine in 3 min.Why we did not leave?Probably because we were starving already after 90min of waiting.I do not want to know what they did but he brought it back in a few minutes and it was warm enough. It is not the end of the story as my wife's order was also incorrect. She asked to replace giant's prows with additional portion of salmon.Obviously it was not done.Waitress was explaining that it is a cook's fault as she wrote it down on the order. Both meals were really tiny and not worth even 50% of the groupon's price. In general this was a terrible culinary experience. One big mess with absolutely no management and customer service skills

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 1.0 star review: We went with a groupon voucher that said the meal was supposed to be worth 53 euro. The quantity was pitiful. If it was what they would charge 53 euros for I would never recommend this place to anyone. The miso was good, the tempura prawns were good. but the sushi platter for two was sad. if that was supposed to be shared for two at what I reckon would be around 38euros cost after the starter there was nothing there. i have eaten sushi at many places around the world and in Dublin. It was a pitiful portion. Bad. a kappa maki roll, three paper thin slices of Ika. one maguro sushi, one tako and a couple of slices of ebi with a anemic few prawn tails...this supposed to feed two and be value...and I was the first man on the moon. avoid this place. they don't even know how to advertise...

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 4.5 star review: I wanted to refresh my review of Mitsuba, since apparently there has been some changes with the personnel, including chef. I have to say, the quality of Sushi is still high. This came almost as a surprise, after some controversial feedback I have lately heard, but I am definitely happy, we went back. The menu is slightly different, which is actually refreshing. Service was attentive, and the only thing maybe needing a bit improvement was still the place itself, but I always put the food first, so I was very pleased. We had 5 different portions of food (Miso soup and 4 different sushi) with beer, and all this was under 40€. This place is definitely good value for money. We will be back!

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 1.0 star review: My boyfriend and I ate here last night... Service was appalling, nobody around when walked in, chef had to remind the waitress who sat us to take our order. We ordered teriyaki chicken which was meant to come with soup & steamed rice. We got neither, when almost finished finally caught attention of the waitress to be told she had forgotten.. 17.80 euro for this dish which would have been much overpriced even if had gotten it altogether. The calafornia roll was a bit too hot for my liking as I thought it should be served at room temp. We were also served very warm water to drink.. should have known better when rang two popular sushi spots only to be told booked out and when walked into mitsuba we were one of 3 tables. Which proved way too much for that waitress!

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 3.5 star review: Went here on a bank holiday Monday at about 7pm. Place was very quiet, as you'd expect. Waiting staff were quite friendly. Ordered the seafood Ramen and the beef Teriyaki. Very tasty and very generous portions. The Ramen came in a punch bowl sized bowl! The only major problem I had was the price. It is quite expensive and is certainly more expensive than other Japaneses restaurants I have visited in Dublin. That said, as I mentioned, the portions are quite large. Will go back to try some of the other dishes and the missus wants to try the sushi as it is supposed to be very good.

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 4.0 star review: we've been here about 5 times now, just keep going back it's so good! they have the best and freshest sushi around. the place is very homely and unassuming. The main dishes are not fantastic but the sushi more than makes up for it, I love coming here and will definately be back.

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant 4.0 star review: Two of us ate here. We were the only ones in there. We have been before so were pleased to re-visit. Lovely food. I had a Menupages voucher and unbeknown to me it had expired at the end of April! So paid full price for what we had and the Owner/Manager gave us a €20 gift voucher which was most kind of him!
Very happy. :)
