Situated on Dublin's waterfront in the bustling IFSC, the Custom House Quay building was the choice for ely's second venue. At ely bar & brasserie our guests can choose from a list of over 400 wines and enjoy wonderful continental cuisine. When our guests walk into our stunning vaulted wine cellars there's a real sense of taking a step back in time. We have restored the vaults and created a relaxed lounging area with two private dining rooms for private functions and wine tastings. In contrast, the impressive glass-walled Atrium Bar upstairs has its own oyster bar, and serves beers, spirits, cocktails and wines while the heated, waterside patio allows for atmospheric dining al fresco. ely bar & brasserie spectacularly showcases what we do best at ely: great wines and beers and smooth food in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.

4.5 ely bar & brasserie 4.5 star review:
Took a friend here for her birthday. We hadn't booked so ordered a cocktail at the bar while we waited for a table. As always in Ely the food was fantastic, scallops to start were def my highlight, cooked perfectly and so tasty. Lovely food washed down with a nice cava and the staff were great. Definitely a place I will continue to return to and recommend to friends.

Went here with a friend for her birthday before a gig in the O2. Delicious food, excellent service and nice atmosphere. Loads of different wines too (it is a wine bar!) and the staff are very helpful with suggestions. Not too cheap, but well worth it for a treat. I'll definitely be back.

We ate here last night as we won the menupages competion for the 3 course meal and the lional ritchie concert tickets in the 02, we were greeted by a lovely lady upstairs who directed us down stairs to a very impressive restaurant, where we were looked after so well by Eoin and the rest of the staff, the wine food and service was excellent, we really enjoyed our experience in Ely Restaurant and the concert was fantastic, thank you all so much for a really memorable night, we will be back to dine with you again soon Happy Christmas from Geraldine and Niall xx

3.5 ely bar & brasserie 3.5 star review:
We decided to have a family gathering here last week. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with a really modern underground feel to it and the service is topclass. The waitors were so attentive and efficient they could not be faulted. We opted for the D'hote menu which I felt lacked imagination and the selection wasn't great. This menu is very good value for a Saturday night but I felt the menu let itself down a bit as I (who would not be a fussy eater) felt there was not much choice. I opted for a goats cheese starter which was literally two slices of goats cheese served with a fruity relish, nothing that you couldn't prepare at home and for main course I had the veggie burger as this was the only option that took my fancy at all. There are definitely many positives to this restuarant but I don't know if I would bother leaving the city centre to go to this restaurant as the menu was quite basic. The wine list is excellent though which is a pity as the food was a let down.

4.0 ely bar & brasserie 4.0 star review:
I was brought here as a surprise which was lovely. On entry the place looks great, really nice setting. We had a lovely table on a couch in the corner which was really comfy and romantic.
Nothing on the menu really popped out at me. But I choose the goats cheese starter and duck for main. The warm bread and butter we got was delicious. The starter arrived so fast...like two minutes after the order was placed which I thought was a but odd. It was ok, tiny portion and only ok. The waitress bringing out the food looked like someone had told her the world would end! The main also arrived really fast and to be honest was quiet cold. The duck was really tender and tasted amazing however the little potato roasties weren't great and they had slices of what seemed like tinned peaches on top...a very odd combo of tastes and I usually love sweet mixed with savoury..it just didn't work though. Also the fennel was too tough to cut with a knife! I had the chocolate dessert which was the highlight it was absolutely scrumptious. I had a cocktail too and it was quiet strong but didn't taste too good.
I really enjoyed the experience but don't think I'd go there again. The price did not live up to the quality of taste and the menu selection did not tickle my taste buds!

2.0 ely bar & brasserie 2.0 star review:
I have eaten here many times and have always found the food and service good however was really disappointed by my visit last Saturday. When we sat down we were told the menu had changed and even though it was 6pm and the menu said dinner was served from 5pm, we were told we could only order from the specials menu - 2 course for €20 I think. The choice was really bad and we ended up going and finding a bar menu ourselves just so we could order a burger. I ordered the special which was Scallops served on a bed of crushed potatoes for about €16 or €17and when it arrived I burst out laughing. There were 3 scallops balancing on a tiny bit of potato in the middle of this huge plate and that was it. It would have been a good starter portion. My friends burger arrived and this was very different to the normal Ely burgers. Much smaller and with one piece of lettuce on the burger and one piece on the plate as garnish. Not even a tomato to take the bland look off the plate. We were very disappointed and if this is the new menu, I will not be back. We complained because I thought there is no point not saying something and we did get some money off our bill, but they did not take our comments very well. They did not apologise and did not seem interested.

We had a great wedding reception at Ely Bar & Brasserie .The staff at Ely at all times went out of their way to ensure that the day went smoothly and allowed us add our own personal touches and flowers etc to the day. Every meal that was served was excellent quality and presented to a very high standard and the extensive menu we were able to offer our guests was a refreshing change to the predictable hotel wedding menus. The venue has a great atmosphere and with such friendly staff, excellent food and high standard of service this makes Ely Bar & Brasserie a perfect wedding venue. Thanks to all for a memorable day.

I’m also a regular visit to Ely as it is nearby where I work so pop in at lunchtime or after work. It’s great to be able to sit outside in sheltered area with heat lamps when required. The selection of wines, drinks and food is great and fairly reasonably priced. I’ve had the very tasty Ely organic beef burger with caeser salad and seasonal steamer veg, and the scrummy Beer Battered haddock with crushed peas and handcut chips. I’m repeat business :-)

Lovely location, good value for money and efficient staff. Very relaxed atmosphere overlooking the waters by Grand canal and a few hours are easily spent people watching. Chicken hamburger wasnt as pleasing however but full praises for the warm pork, crab apple and sage dish.
