7 Social Restaurant, City Centre North

Irish artisan restaurant with a European twist. Daily changing hot sandwiches by day, bistro by night. Best gourmet sandwiches in Dublin! Only opened 1 month but already building a solid reputation for doing the best lunches in the city. Eat in or takeaway. We don't have menus during the day as the food changes daily. Our blackboards on the walls will give you a full description of our high end sandwiches, salads, soups and hot dishes! Our night time bistro menu is creative and damn well delicious, served Wednesday - Saturday 6pm-10pm, alongside moreish wines all offered by the glass and bottle. You'll be glad you went a little bit out of your way for great food.

Had really wanted to try this place for a while now but they have stopped doing lunch on Saturdays. Eventually when I had a day off I got to try it out with a friend. We both opted for the soup and sandwich option which I think at 10euro is pretty good value, as good as you would get anywhere else and all this food is made fresh on a daily basis. The soup was tomato and basil which I thought lacked a bit in flavour. Sandwiches are served on delicious bread which is almost oily, like good Italian bread. I had the paprika peppers and sweet pickle sandwich which was really tasty and my friend had the chicken which she said was very good. We finished our food at 2.45pm. The restaurant closes at 3 for lunch time trading. We were asked would we like coffee or dessert but got the distinct feeling they may rather we didnt! Looking forward to trying the evening dinner menu sometime.

Nice little quirky place. We were here for lunch. Food was good. We both had the soup which was nettle and vegetable which was substantial and quite flavoursome without being mind blowing. I find that soups thickened by potatoes seem to be slightly bland unless there has been great stock used. But that's just my taste. I had the chicken and pear slaw sandwich. My Dad had the paprika peppers and sweet pickle sandwich which he claimed was very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed mine also. Soup and a sandwich is 10 euros but portions are large. Coffee was very good if ridiculously small. Muffins were a big let down. They were certainly fresh and homemade but lacked any of their intended flavours. My blueberry and elderflower muffin was only a blueberry muffin by the same token that Michael Jackson was black. It had no flavour at all. Neither did my fathers which was orange and dark chocolate. Both are usually strong flavours but very little was present in his. Nice place. Bit tight. Slightly too much style over substance. Service was friendly and attentive.

I live in the neighbourhood and when I saw this little restaurant pop up along the luas line I was looking forward to trying it out! Myself and 2 of my friends went along one Sunday evening to check it out. The menu was limited and mains on the high price side. I had the slow roast rabbit ragu linguine, my friend had the chicken supreme and other butternut squash risotto. The rabbit ragu was served in a small dish..it was quite dry with carrots dotted through a sticky red ragu sauce..it was luke warm...I could do better at home. The chicken supreme dish was rather small..underwhelming also. The butternut squash risotto was packed with chillis..and chillis were not on the menu..almost to compensate for the lack of flavour from the butternut. Our desserts were served in small jam jars..I think this attempt at quirkiness failed..people do not like portion sizes reduced for the sake of quirkiness. The coffee was excellent. Overall I would say that this restaurant has potential, I would prefer to have it remain in the neighbourhood, but it needs to give people value for money.
