Stopped here from lunch after driving from Belfast and was very happily surprised by the quality of the food. My friend and I were peckish but were planning a big dinner later so didn't want to indulge too much. I had the goats cheese salad. I love goats cheese so I was happy enough with it but they didn't remove the rind before they chopped up the cheese and the cheese was cold. Would have been nicer if they grilled it for a few minutes. My friend had the special of crab and salmon salad. Yum, loads of seafood and really fresh and tasty. The guiness was very tasty too! Would definitely go back if I was in Donegal again.

We stopped here for lunch on our way home from visiting Co. Donegal. It is lovely and quaint looking from the outside and a tempting menu board just inside the hallway lured us in. It did not disappoint on the inside. Original flagged floors and cosy eating areas offered a welcome refuge from the December chill. I had the seabass on a bed of champ in a lobster and prawn bisque, which was to die for. My partner, who wasn't awful hungry, had the homemade burger served with chips, which he was very happy with. He had a coffee while I ordered a red wine and was delighted to get a proper red wine glass, not one of the tiny little things that are common in a lot of places. Service was friendly and attentive and we went on our way very satisfied that we had a meal superior to the usual Sunday lunch fare.

We visited this restaurant after driving from Cork to Donegal. We were starving and looking for some hearty food in a relaxing atmosphere. This place was perfect - my standout dish was the goat's cheese starter while my boyfriend devoured the venison pie. They had a delicious local brew called Red Hugh which they have brewed especially for them. It's always nice to find a place that has it's own beers. We liked the place so much we came back for drinks after we wandered the town after our meal. This restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip to Co Donegal.
