Shapla's is situated in quite an odd location on the approach to Letterkenny so the quality within was perhaps a surprise. We arrived around 6.30 and the atmosphere was limited - there seemed to be a more brisk takeaway service being done than those sitting in. The fare is superior Indian with generous spicing for the Irish market. The service was good and the food was excellent - very well prepared and good quality meats and real flavour on offer - certainly not a bland experience. For two starters, two mains, rice and a nan with one 187ml wine the bill was €45 so, perhaps spoilt by the price point in Birmingham where we were for many years, at the higher end of expectations but still we will definitely be back.

We LOVE this place! Cosy and welcoming with a really good menu with lots of choice. Chef will cook to your taste (you can request how hot or mild you would like curries). Lots of poppadoms and dips laid out when browsing menu, yum. Good selection of beers and limited wine list. Samosas, Pakora and Chicken Chat great starters. Balti, Jalfrezi, Bhuna, Dhansak all excellent mains. Quite good value for money. Staff very friendly and attentive. A great place for takeaway or dine-in.
