Irish people love to eat seafood when dining out; in fact, unlike our European neighbours, we eat more seafood outside the home. Perhaps this is a testament to the quality of our seafood restaurants. And for many visitors, a trip to Ireland wouldn’t be complete without sampling a few oysters and sinking a pint of the black stuff. Veggie options available

I was here for lunch with friends and the food was excellent. It was bar food, but the service was great. Staff were really friendly. The bar and toilets were really clean and the place was immaculate. There was a great selection to choose from on the menu. It was service with a smile and I would definately return here.

Delicious food – my husband and I ate Ostan Loch Altan on both nights of our 2 night break in the hotel. The restaurant was not open as we stayed on Monday and Tuesday night however the bar menu offers a wide choice of options. The first night we opted for what you might say are traditional dinners – turkey and ham for me, roast beef for my husband. My husband had a really good bowl of chowder to start. The main dishes were really big but so lovely that we finished them all. Fresh veg, potatoes and an unexpected portion of chips were delicious. On our second night we had the bacon and cheese burger and the chicken baguette. The burger was lovely however I’d say that there was too much meat in it, some may not mind this however I just found it too much. My husbands chicken dish was in a peppar sauce, he felt that the sauce was as spicy as he would like but was still delicious. As some restaurants in the area don’t offer food during the day in off season it’s great to know that Ostan Loch Altan is there serving their great food from 12-9 daily.
