3.0 Captain America's Cookhouse and Bar (Cork) 3.0 star review:
Went in here on Mothers day and the place was about a quarter full. Tables were covered in dirty glasses and plates. The bar was covered in glasses. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated and given our menus. We then had to ask three times to put in our order. My little girl had pizza and absolutely loved it but the rest of the food was so bland there was no taste at all of it.
We were very disappointed with the experience however on the upside because it was mothers day I got my meal free which was a lovely idea but we won't be rushing back anytme soon.

this resturant is really nice fully of atmosphere and is perfect for parties and special occasions.the staff are really freindly and are well able to cope with large groups of people. the music that is played in the resturant is quite loud so it is hared to hear other people but it is perfect for parties.the food is really good value for what you get so perfect for studients.they have a good rang to suit any taste from burgurs to fish to pasta and even more.i would recommend it to any large group of people.

I went here with a few of the girls for a meal before a night out... I have to say it was appalling... Apart from the nachos which would have done as a main course, the rest was terrible. I had chicken goujons to start which were greasy and clearly cheap frozen ones. For main course I had, what was supposed to be a chicken burger of some sort, a piece of dried up shrivelled chicken on a bun that was too big and loaded with salad to try cover the fact that there was no chicken! It was so dry and stringy and there was hardly no sauce. Very very poor. In fact if someone could not cook I would expect better! The service was terrible also, the guy who was not Irish (pretty sure he was either English or Australian... hard to tell with his huffing and puffing). At once stage while one of my friends was in the middle of eating he literally tried to remove the plate from her asking her was she finished. In which she was very angry and expressed this to him. He was rushing us the whole night and was very uncomfortable... Also we got a giant cocktail which was purely cola... I know this because we drank almost the full 5 litres or whatever it was and were still sober but merely left with a toothache.
I would not recommend this to anyone and the only nice thing is the actual look of the place. Other than that don't waste your money it's shocking.

It is difficult to choose a relatively healthy option on this menu, and although I have no aversion to fat for the sake of taste, the food here is typically loaded with grease, and what's more, the portion sizes are enormous. The lashings of grease do nothing to add to the taste, which is simply bland. I am a lover of spice and I had chicken fajitas on one occasion, and cajun salmon on another, and I was disappointed at the lack of flavour. The service was also disappointing, as I was left waiting for the drink and refills for a considerable time. The service staff passed by the table numerous times and never once checked in with my friend and I.

Brilliant place to eat! fun, relaxed environment and the service is great. i got the barbeque burger and got the bbq sauce on the side so i could pour it over my burger and dip chips in it. got the chocolate brownie for dessert. it came with chocolate fudge sauce and cream and ice cream. amazing! had an americano as well which complimented the dessert nicely. i had a buy one get one free voucher so the meal was great value you really come out of there feeling stuffed!

It's a great place atmospherewise and the service was terrific, yet I can't keep thinking how in the last year it's gone a bit downhill, not as much in touch with it's former glory....I went at lunchtime though,so it may be better come dinner?

Was here with a hen party of 17. Having been to the Dublin branch on a number of occasions and always being disappointed I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food at the Cork branch. My potato skin starter was scrumptious and the veggie lasagne was pretty decent too. It's a good place for large parties starting a night out. Good waiting staff too.
