Ate here last Friday evening and have to say it was one of the best meals I have had out in the last while. Very reasonably priced food with excellent staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it and when in the area we will return.

The setting of this restaurant is fantastic, though on this visit our food was a little disappointing. We ate here on a Saturday, because it was a Bank Holiday we were only offered the Sunday Lunch menu. On top of this their pizza menu (which was part of the Sunday Lunch) menu was not available either and as a result our options were pretty limited. We had salads and seafood chowders for starters which were all delicious. For our main courses we were left with very few options and so we order three roast of the day (lamb) and one chicken goujons. The roasts were all a little dry and we felt like we it was cooked quite a few hours beforehand, it was neither tender nor succulent. However, the goujons were nice and tender and were really fresh and tasty. For dessert, we were again limited as they had no ice cream. One of us ordered the chocolate browny which was incredibly hard and heavy, between 4 of us we found it hard to finish. We love good food and are far from fussy, but because we were celebrating a birthday on this day we felt really let down by the choice and quality on the day. We have eaten in the Church quite a few times before this but when we return we will ensure to go when a full dinner menu is being served.
