Tried Jim Edwards for dinner when we visited on a golf vacation. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed. While we were seated promptly, we didn't see anyone to order a drink for 20 minutes. Once they realized we were there, we had no problem, however. The food was fresh, prepared well and was simply delicious. There were other restaurants in town that we want to visit when we return, but this is a good, solid choice that won't disappoint.

Visited Jim Edwards recently for a quick bite to eat in the bar. Couldn't resist trying a cup of seafood chowder to start, which is a fantastic idea, as a bowl is sometimes too rich before a main. It was lovely and creamy with a tomatoe base, plenty of white fish to be found in it and also a few mussels plus a slice of garlic bread, great choice for €4.95. My friend went with a bowl of potoatoe and tarragon soup and plenty of fresh brown bread was supplied with this. I'd a stead sandwich here, served with mushrooms, onions, chips and side salad plus a chilli mayonnaise on the side, nice to get something different! For €12.90, this steak sandwich is excellent value, a fine piece of steak was served too and cooked just to your liking. My friend choose the lamb cutlets on a bed of mash with an onion gravy reduction, he got 3 very generous lamb chops on a silky smooth bed of mash and a portion of veg including some gratintated potoatoes also followed. This bar menu offers excellent value for money and never fails with it's food. It has a large choice of shellfish and fresh fish to also choose from, for which we will indeed return! Service was efficient and prompt and the bar was very busy in general.

Went to Jim Edwards recently for the 'Dine in Cork' week offer. We were a party of 8 and we were at the top of the restaurant watching it all going on. The restaurant was very busy which created a lovely atmosphere. The service was incredible. We were waited on hand and foot. Even though the restaurant was packed we were seated straight away, our order was taken promptly and we were not waiting long for our food to arrive. We had plently of everything and were looked after incredibly well. The food was great (not one complaint out of the 8 of us)! Would definitely recommend Jim Edwards if dining out in Kinsale - you can't go wrong!!
