This bar has an extensive bar menu and given the location, I was pleasantly surprised that everything was very fairly priced. The service is excellent here and given that there is a very busy passing trade from people walking on the beach aswell as being there for Spa treatments, we got our food very efficiently. I had the sizzling breast of duck served with flat mushrooms, chips, side salad and a pepper sauce. I ordered the duck medium, it was a little over cooked for my liking but I find anything served on a sizzling plate will always cook more anyway. I must say the best part of this dish was the delicious side salad, lovely fresh frisee lettuce, chicory, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and red onion with a lovely raspberry vinaigrette over it, it was like a meal in itself! The chips were a little anaemic looking and unfortunately I found my pepper sauce to be on the very watery side. Priced at €24.95, it was one of the more expensive options on the menu. I think I was just unlucky with my choice as my friend choose a lovely fillet steak sandwich with an onion marmalade, the same side salad and chips. The presentation of this dish was excellent. As previously mentioned there is a large choice on this menu from thai chicken curry, sandwiches, steaks and the house special of fish & chips which I saw going out and looked very impressive! We choose a John Fisher Merlot to accompany our meal, very nicely priced at €22 a bottle. Feeling a little cheated by my main choice, we both also ventured for dessert. I had the bannoffi pie and my friend choose a devine chocolate torte served with a raspberry coulis and strawberry ice cream followed by a large cafeteria of coffee served with little biscuit tulles. Great to get the pot of coffee for that extra cup and not to be charged for it! All in all, I will definitely be heading back for another meal here, be it for a light lunch, as they do “light options” on the menu also or maybe even to try one of their sandwiches.

Afternoon Tea in the Lounge at Inchydoney was ok.. nothing special. I expected silverware, scones, clotted cream homemade jam, but got none of the above. What we did get was however very good, and served promptly and efficiently. The three tiers consisted of 1) Savoury scones and spinach dough balls and Prawn wontons. Tasty but no butter was served so lacking without. Not sure about the spinach dough balls.. weird consistency. 2) Open sandwiches on lovely brown bread. Consisted of baked ham and turkey, and also Roast beef with a gallon of horseradish. 3) Delightful looking pastries although tastewise they were just ok. Home made chocolate bisuits, a tiramasu slice, fruit loaf and strawberry tartlets. All in all this was an ok afternoon tea. I probably wouldn't get it again however.

Had breakfast and evening dinner here. Was glad I had evening dinner on the night before the breakfast as you would not be able for any other meal on the same day- it was enormous, so varied, wholesome and full and plenty of everything. I Ioved the generous portion of freshly-cooked halibut - a rare delicacy for breakfast nowadays. Apricot compote, fruit salad and prune compote were just my choice of food! Every diner has to be spoiled with the choices here. The same goes for evening dinner. The presentation of their delightful food is a work of art. So much care is taken to ensuring that your dining experience is a culinary one and one that you will want to keep returning to. My husband and myself regret that it isn't nearer to home!
