Arrived around three so the place was practically empty and there was no problem getting served. Staff was efficient. Ordered steak sandwhich, which came with side salad and fries and Baked Ardsallagh Goats Cheeseon a crispy crouton with roast beetroot, orange & chickpea salad, All though all the food was tasty the salad with the Ardsallagh cheese was very small, there was hardly any chick peas, no orange or roast beetroot, a little dissapointing.

Been here a number of times in the evening now. I think the food is really good. I tend to get the steak and it is always tender. My girlfriend would get the curry and she loves that. Nice and reasonable and staff are nice. If you're there on a Saturday night, there's normally a band on straight after so you can start and finish the night there.

We normally don't eat in barrys because we had a bad experience there a few years back, but as I had been given a voucher for Christmas, we decided to try the Sunday lunch there. When we arrived the place was packed with diners and we struggled to get seating that suited us and small boy. When we did get seating, Freda joined the que for the carvery. The que was very slow moving and I felt they could have been a bit better in this area. As we were going to eat again later in the day we only wanted something light but Barrys were not doing a sandwich menu. I opted for a half portion of the salmon and Freda had the warm chicken salad. When Freda enquired about the half portion she was told it would be €9.50 as opposed to €12.95 for the full portion. She considered this bad value so she ordered the full portion and did not get a baby bowl for small boy as he would have some of the salmon. Freda said that her salad was delicious and she really enjoyed it. I shared the salmon with small boy and he seemed to enjoy it too. I thought that it could have done with a bit more sauce as my overall feeling was that the dish was quite dry. mashed and roast potatoes, cabbage and carrots would have benefitted with a gravy or some of the sauce that accompanied the salmon. Over all not bad but when the voucher is used up I would not be a frequent visitor of Barrys. having said all that, they must be doing something right as the place was packed.
