My family go here a lot owing to its good value, generous portion sizes of tasty food and decent service. We have had a number of family gatherings here and they always take good care of us. Very willing and able staff.

Our local SuperValu had an offer of two three-course meals for 35euro. Though the menu was restrictricted for the offer their was at least 5 choices each for starters and main courses. Despite my partner wanting more bread with his pate starter the portion sizes were very good. For mains he ordered BBQ ribs and it came with two fine sized slabs and chips. I had a warm chicken salad as a main and it was both fresh and too big to finish. For dessert we were allowed to order any dessert they had that day and we both were pleased with out apple tart and chocolate cake. While we may not have gone to McCarthy's without the offer, we are likely to return as the menu was varied, the food was tasty and the service was excellent.

Was in McCarthy's today 14Th January 2010; to meet an old friend whom I hadn't seen for two years. On entering the complex via the main doors I was immediately impressed by interior. Water and juices setup on a table next to the carvery for easy access. The atmosphere in here was great, it was busy, comfortable but not squashed together like some restaurants of the same kind. I didn't have a meal in here, just their Soup of the Day which was Cream of Vegetable. The food was great, big bowl which obviously means a generous portion; included with Brown soda bread. I had a Café Latte with my meal, which was a nice coffee (Being a coffee fan I thought I should comment on the coffee quality). Price wise, I wasn't happy to be honest, it cost in total for the Latte and the bowl of soup €7.00 which is pretty steep for a coffee and a bowl of soup. All in all, good restaurant , great tasting food (well the soup anyway but all other food looked great), amazing decor and a bustling atmosphere but with a costly price from what I could see. - Patrick
