O'Looney's, Lahinch

O'Looneys Bar with exciting menu is served on both its split levels which enjoys breathtaking views of the sea. A relaxing modern environment, it maintains the authenticity of what made O'Looneys famous originally; Surf, Seafood and Stout, with a fresh, modern twist; the menu retains old favourites of fish & chips and hearty chowder aswell as some exciting daily/evening specials.

Had dinner on Sunday evening last upstairs in Waves Restaurant and cannot fault any aspect of the evening. You cannot book a table in advance but we were waiting 2 minutes. We requested a window seat (on the advice of our taxi man) and were not disappointed with the view - over looking the beach and a beautiful summers sunset. Service was brilliant from the manager or our lovely waitress. Both were very attentive to our group of 7. The food was delicious - not a very large menu but there was something there for everyone. I had the fish & chips and it was fab. The batter on the fish was so light and melt in your mouth. The Burger, Steak and Chicken were also met with delight by my friends and everyone really enjoyed the food. Portions were huge! For dessert I had the Vanilla and Oreo Cheescake - in one word Yummy! All in all we had a lovely evening, great food, wine and atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

super staff. fish n chips were just ok (@€13.95) the fish could have been cod or pollock or ling or who knows... the batter was flecked with some overcooked and tasteless green herb(?) the chops were fine but tasted of overworked oil. nevertheless we had a great time, super staff, great atmosphere, amazing view - had the fish n chips been priced at 9.95 or 10.95 we'd have been very happy overall. (to be fair it was one of the sunniest days of the summer and the place was mobbed)

This was my second trip to Lahinch and I just had to go back to Waves restaurant (O'Looneys). The view is superb, nothing better than having dinner watching the wild Atlantic Ocean in the rain. The food was equally as wonderful, the best chowder I ever tasted to start followed by chicken stuffed with black pudding, the food was beautiful, the staff were fantastic and the queues out the door show how popular this place is. Without doubt one of my favourite places in Ireland, I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more!
