Visited here with a group on Sunday for the oyster festival, There was great activity in the little villlage and a nice crowd around. The restaurant I had visited before and always go for seafood chowder and seafood platter. Both were excellent, service was good even though the staff were rushed. Prices were about average for a highly rated touristy seafood restaurant, Pints were good, and sitting outside in the sun was the icing on the cake. Will be back again before the season is over.

Visited here as I wanted to treat family member to birthday lunch. Lady waitress was grumpy unfriendly and in permanent state of rush.. Other server was lovely. Wanted extra broccoli - was refused, Asked for extra greens - was refused- Told to have spuds...WAnted any green cooked veg - so she said best she had was lettuce. Brought it - covered in Balsamic vinegar then refused to change it !!I had to insist and she did under pressure..Burger stated -with french fries and side salad - but side salad was a half a tomato...No relish - no sauce - just dry burger... I have eaten here before and I loved it - Today I wanted Chowder but it was off.. I think they need to pay attention to detaill and not allow a sullen waitress to put folk off..Plates and glasses were dirty.

I'm genuinely surprised to be the first reviewer of the Long Dock, as I'm sure the owners would be! The Long Dock, based in the small village of Carrigaholt is a super power in the league of Irish seafood restaurants. Fresh local fish and classic flavour combinations are it's secret, as well as excellent value for money and a wonderful atmosphere, especially in the evening. The menu reflects the catch of the day, ensuring only the freshest ingredients. On this day I had mussels for starters and a beautifully executed salmon dish. The challenge was to not try and pack in their wonderful chowder also, but I'll have to save that for another day. Don't miss the Long Dock if you are in West Clare and why not take in a dolphin trip at the local harbour while you are there. You will become a fan of the Long Dock, especially if you like your fish. Meat eaters need not fear either, but for me the Long Dock means Seafood.
