Ate here as part of a large group. It was a group deal & no idea what the individual rate was so I can't comment on value. The food and staff were top class, but you would not want to go hungry. The menu had a number of interesting options but even with potato/veg sides we all left hungry and had to get as much bread as possible. Is more of a couples or small groups restaurant than for a group of 20+ Would be very keen to go back as the food really was top class.

Took my mom there for sunday lunch. they only had a one o clock sitting and when we arrived we were the first there so the place was lacking in atmosphere but it soon livened up. Mom had the salmon and said it was lovely, I had the turkey which was very tasty and my husband had the lamb and its all served in a bowl which is a bit odd regardless of what you order. While the portions are huge i did find it overpirced, It was enjoyable but I would not be rushing back.

If I am staying Cavan I usually stay in this hotel purely because of the food. The menu is always good and the food is excellently prepared and presented. They always seem to go that extra little bit with the effort and the chef knows how to play with flavours. Who would ever dream of serving blue-cheese ice-cream with a fillet of beef! Believe me it works.
