The Lord Bagenal Restaurant 5.0 star review: We went here for Valentine's day, it was great! The selection had a great variety, catering for all tastes. The steak was perfect, very warm atmosphere and cosy, lovely for couples.

The Lord Bagenal Restaurant 5.0 star review: I was travelling to Carlow last Saturday and I stopped at the Lord Bagnal to have lunch.

The restaurant which looked lovely was not open as it was set up for a wedding later that day.

There was a carvery service in the bar area which had numerous choices available and to my delight saw that Corned beef and cabbage was an option which is my favourite dish.

There were extremely generous portions and the food and service excellent and the price very reasonable.

The carvery appears to be very popular with locals as at the time I left the bar restaurant area was filling up.

Hope on my next visit to stay over..

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
