I posted a scathing review of this restaurant last April! HOWEVER...the restaurant since closed and reopened with new staff and new head chef so I thought they deserved a second chance. Completely different experience now, staff were superb and friendly. restaurant was buzzing with lots of xmas parties, great atmosphere. The food was excellent and I'm not surprised as I've eaten in the Head Chef's previous restaurant before. I had the Corn Fed Chicken Lautrec..C'est Magnifique!!! Amazing the difference a top chef can make! I will be definitely be returning and would recommend for all events, birthday's, romantic nights out, staff parties, hens, family occasions. Keep up the good work.

I have ate in this restaurant on more than one occassion.I am a big fan. As a vegetarian I love the mushroom lautrec and then I usually have a pasta dish for mains. the last time I visited I had a new pasta dish and it was fantastic. I went with a group of girl- friends and we were on a budget.there was a discussion as to whether to get starters and a main or a main and dessert.we opted for the main and the dessert. By the time it came to ordering the dessert we were too full. (but of course there was quiet an amount of wine ordered too). the service is very friendly. I gave the atmosphere a 4 as mentioned in the previous review it is very cosy and the lighting is perfect downstairs for a romantic meal but upstairs while it is still very nice is not as romantic or cosy as downstairs.i would highly recommend.

As a regular customer of this restaurant I can highly recommend paying a visit. The staff are always exceptionally friendly and accommodating and provide a very efficient service. When possible they will do their best to work around any specific dietary requirements and are always appreciative of our custom. The food is very well done and the menu is imaginative without being pretentious, the portion sizes are just right and I have never had an issue with getting my food cooked to my exact requests. Although it may seem a little on the pricey side it is well worth it if you are looking to have a quality meal in a nice friendly environment and not just feel like you are just another cover. The layout of the restaurant itself is small without feeling cramped, although the lighting leaves it a little less fitting for a large gathering and more suited to an intimate meal or a small group. All in all Lautrecs makes for a very pleasant dining experience.
