Monday 05th March

RTE1 @3.05pm - Rachel Allen's Dinner Parties   - The cook gives Nerys Royal a masterclass, demonstrating how to prepare baked beetroot risotto with parmesan crisps, a zesty pine nut-crusted fish with salsa verde and a rich coffee zabaglione. Last in the series.

 

Channel4 @12.05 - Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard -New series. The patissier demonstrates recipes and holds a contest in a bid to identify home-grown baking talent, as well as giving his advice on cooking.

 

Channel4 @5.00pm - Come Dine with Me- Theatre enthusiast Jay Coleman hosts the first party in Newport, putting on a dramatic evening with an international menu, in the hope of winning the £1,000 prize at the end of the week.

 

TV3 @6.30pm - Come Dine with Me- Contestants try to outdo each other by throwing the perfect dinner party, which is then judged on its merits by their rivals.

Channel 4 @ 12.05 - Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard - The patissier demonstrates two of his favourite recipes and continues his search for home-grown baking talent.

 

Channel4 @5.00pm - Come Dine with Me- Theatre enthusiast Jay Coleman hosts the first party in Newport, putting on a dramatic evening with an international menu, in the hope of winning the £1,000 prize at the end of the week.

 

TV3 @6.30pm - Come Dine with Me - Contestants try to outdo each other by throwing the perfect dinner party, which is then judged on its merits by their rivals.

 

RTE2 @7.00pm - MasterChef Goes Large- Restaurateur John Torode and radio presenter Gregg Wallace host the cookery competition as contestants are put through gruelling culinary challenges to test not just their skills, but also their knowledge of food and ability to cope in a professional kitchen.

BBC1 @9.00pm – MasterChef- John Torode and Gregg Wallace challenge the four remaining wannabe chefs to tackle pastry, one of the hardest culinary disciplines there is. First they prepare an afternoon tea of savoury and sweet cakes, with a gaggle of 1970s TV sitcom stars - including Alison Steadman, Rodney Bewes and Bill Oddie - on hand to taste the results. But this is no laughing matter for the contestants, who hope their food will put a smile on the comedy veterans' faces. In the second test they make two show-stopping desserts - with three of the world's finest pastry chefs, James `Jocky' Petrie, Damian Allsop and Claire Clark, judging the results. For one hopeful, this will be their final time in the MasterChef kitchen. For the other three, a place in the final week awaits.

 

Thursday 08th March

TG4 @ Bean an Ti sa Chistin  - Siobhan Tim Ni Chonghaile is pitted against Patricia Ui Ghamhnain in the first of the quarter finals, as the chefs battle to remain in the competition.

Neven also heads to Co Kilkenny to see how Kilmeaden cheddar cheese is made and indulges in a tasting session. This week's recipes include goat's cheese and potato filo tartlets, sausage and red-onion soda farls, a roasted tomato and red-pepper soup, and a twice-baked cheese souffle.

 

Friday 9th March

Channel4 @7.35pm - Come Dine with Me- Four amateur cooks from Stockport compete to win the £1,000 prize. Bank clerk Alastair Lomas, super-competitive student Amy Green, recruitment consultant Gillian Twist and mechanic Samuel Norrin take turns hosting dinner parties during a week featuring a car-themed menu, revelations, chaos and a bit of a mystery.
